Position OverviewPosition Overview: Assist in the design and development of a large-scale distributed simulation system using an existing simulation framework in an Agile development environment. This includes development of physical and behavioral models and user interfaces. Implement interfaces between this system and military C2 systems and other simulations in accordance with published standards. Responsibilities include: Full lifecycle software development to include software requirements analysis, software design, software implementation, software integration and test, and system documentation. This position may also require limited travel and on-site support to the user community.
ResponsibilitiesEssential Job Functions:
Maintain and improve the performance of existing software code, with duties to write and update software code under contract and direction from contractor and government managementTest and maintain software products to ensure strong functionality and optimizationProvide improvements to existing software programs as necessaryDesign and develop unit and other testsComply with, and participate in, program software development processes and practices. This includes meaningful participation in Agile development process events such as scrums and sprint reviewsOperate collaboratively in a development team environment Required Experience/QualificationsRequired Experience/Qualifications:
Agile software developmentExperience in Linux/Windows to include shell scriptingAbility to test and debugUse of Git or similar version control system in compliance with program configuration management processesExcellent verbal and written communications skills along with the ability to present technical data and approaches to both technical and non-technical audiencesBachelor’s degree in a technical discipline such as electrical engineering, computer science, information technology, systems or software engineering from an accredited college or university or any bachelor’s and two years additional software development experience. High school diploma and 5 years’ additional software development experience can substitute for bachelor’s degree.Minimum 8 years total software development experience. Experience supporting military training events/exercises utilizing simulation-based training systems Experience using or developing military simulations, especially AFSIMExperience with HLA or DIS simulation protocols Special Requirements/Security ClearanceSpecial Requirements/Security Clearance:
In accordance with the specifications of a government contract, eligibility for this position mandates U.S. Citizenship status with ability to obtain a SECRET to TOP SECRET security clearance. The precise security clearance requisites will be detailed in the Government's Task Order.
