Sr. Software Engineer

Summary:
Responsible for writing programs to maintain and control computer systems software for operating systems, networked systems, and database systems. Responsible for creating the software platform, and then fine-tuning the final program after it has been made.

Job Responsibilities:
• Modify existing software to correct errors, to adapt it to new hardware or to upgrade interfaces and improve performance.
• Design and develop software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design.
• Consult with engineering staff to evaluate interface between hardware and software, develop specifications and performance requirements and resolve customer problems.
• Advise customer about, or perform, maintenance of software system.
• Develop and direct software system testing and validation procedures.

Skills:
• Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage ones time.
• Knowledge of the full software development lifecycle: from business/systems analysis, through requirements gathering and functional specification authoring, to development, testing and delivery.
• Ability to troubleshoot issues and make system changes as needed to resolve issue.
• Knowledge of computer development software, such as SQL, Java, J2EE, etc.

Education/Experience:
• High School Degree and Bachelors degree in computer science/relevant field or equivalent work experience required.
• 6 to 8 years experience required.

Comments
Position Title: Software Engineer Sr 
Provide locations/flexible work by preference: Pittsburgh PA - 
Ability to work remote: Hybrid, 3 days in office, 2 remotely
Acceptable time zone(s): EST
Days of the week: Mon-Fri
OT: Occasional weekend work but would only be once or twice a month for production deployments
Travel: No

Function of the Group:
Generate revenue

Initiatives/Projects: C&IB CTB - Supporting new PINACLE Global Payments app development, which is replacing legacy ACH and Funds Transfer applications as part of PINACLE Modernization.

Team Dynamic:
Agile Development Crew
- 6 Developers
- 2 QA Testers
- Product Owner
- Mix of onshore and offshore developers
- BSA

Roles and Responsibilities:
Writing code
Handling technical design documentation
Collaborating with the backend developers for the web services calls
Working with QA testers

Level 3: 4-6 YRS
Must Have Technical Skills:
Angular UI Developer experience
Experience building front end interfaces and integrating with back end web services
Able to create technical design documentation and work with back end developers to define appropriate service contracts and data types

Flex Skills/Nice to Have:
Agile familiarity
Backend development experience

Soft Skills:
N/A

Education/Certifications:
Experience in lieu of education, but Bachelors a plus
No Certifications
