For more information about American Home Shield and Frontdoor, please visit frontdoorhome.com . **Responsibilities** **Summary:** Our Software Engineers are product focused, giving them the opportunity to work on a product and understand the layers of the software stack. Work includes documentation, automated testing, debugging, working with algorithms and data structures, coding, design, system performance scaling, and problem solving for highly technical and complex software programs. Responsibilities also include providing independent execution of medium-sized projects impacting teams of 3-4 people, contributing to the development of new ideas and principles, and working on long-range programs and objectives. **Responsibilities:** + Write documentation and automated tests for code to be written. + Implement functionality for automated tests that will successfully pass and meet coding standards. + Debug production issues and create subsequent mitigation plans. + Optimize performance of existing implementations. + Look at non-familiar code and identify issues, while improving overall quality of system, and helping team members with debugging issues. + Build the right data structures, add indices to fix performance issues, and determine data structures that perform best with respect to third party integrations. + As a component owner, where the component impacts across multiple platforms (1-5 member team), refactor critical components of code, write easily extendable code, convert abstract engineering goals into actionable items and deliver it, code complex problems, dispatch algorithms, and make improvements to automation infrastructure. + Identify platform quirks and hidden methods that can slow down or boost performance. Provide quick fixes to performance issues. + Work with team to establish benchmark around the work done in App or in Backend. Determine where the bottlenecks are and how to implement better solutions. + Prioritize tasks with Scrummaster that leads the team to be successful. + Bring forward ideas to experiment and work in teams to transform ideas to reality. + Ability to participate in on-call rotation for frontend and backend services + May include other duties as assigned. **Qualifications** **Minimum Education, Licensure and Professional Certification requirements:** Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field required, Master’s degree preferred **Minimum Experience required:** 7+ years product development experience **Required Skills:** + Proficiency in React.js, including hooks, context API, and state management solutions (Redux/MobX); deep understanding of JavaScript fundamentals, ES6+ features, and TypeScript + Experience with modern frontend build tools (Webpack, Babel) and testing frameworks (Jest, React Testing Library) + Experience with of Golang for backend development, including concurrency patterns, error handling, and standard libraries + Capability to design applications leveraging RESTful APIs and microservices using Go + Proficiency in debugging complex frontend and backend issues across the full stack + Experience with various data storage solutions, particularly MongoDB and MySQL + Strong understanding of web performance optimization and browser rendering **Preferred Skills:** + Strong leadership skills with capability to lead a team of engineers + Experience in developing products in an Agile development environment + Experience working in a CI/CD environment + Understanding of Git and development activities such as merge and conflict resolution of code + Understanding and experience in Docker, Kubernets, and AWS cloud services **Other/State Specific** _This role pays between $130k_ _to $_ _145k_ _, and your actual base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, responsibilities, experience, and location._ _At Frontdoor certain roles are eligible for additional rewards and incentives.
