The Siri Experiences team is looking for an architect to help unlock even more capabilities of Apple’s ecosystem for Siri. The Architect will be responsible for designing the underlying technical architecture of Siri’s showcase experiences. This includes natural language processing, speech recognition, response generation systems, and language models ensuring efficient communication and user interaction while considering scalability, reliability, and future development needs; you’ll collaborate with engineers to translate product requirements into technical solutions and maintain the overall system integrity. **Description** In this role you will be responsible for: •Define the overall system architecture for the voice assistant, including integration of a language model for more natural conversation, NLP engines, dialogue management, speech recognition, and response synthesis modules. •Select appropriate technologies and frameworks based on performance requirements and scalability needs. •Design data flow between different system components and ensure seamless integration with existing Siri systems to maintain a consistent user experience across platforms and releases. •Guide the development team in implementing the architectural design, providing technical expertise and decision-making on critical technical aspects. •Collaborate with engineers to translate product requirements into technical specifications. •Monitor and evaluate the performance of the voice assistant system, identifying areas for optimization and improvement. •Ensure strong protocol design principles to facilitate broad donation of capabilities from apps and services. **Minimum Qualifications** + BS, MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent degree with 10+ years of industry experience + Strong understanding of language models, transformers and related technologies + Experience with software design patterns and architectural principles + Experience with API design principles for broad adoption + Proficiency in programming languages (Python, Java, Swift) + Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams **Key Qualifications** **Preferred Qualifications** + Expertise in speech recognition and synthesis technologies + Experience with iOS/macOS software frameworks **Education & Experience** **Additional Requirements** **Pay & Benefits** + At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $207,800 and $378,700, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
