Responsibilities Manage project deadlines, as well as your time and schedule in a fast-paced federal environmentWork directly with the business analysts and developers to translate functional requirements into executable test cases Review and generate complex test plans, generate test case data, build procedures and testing scripts based upon functional specificationsCreate detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test casesEstimate, prioritize, plan and coordinate testing activitiesExecute test cases, logs, validate defectsIdentify, record, document and track bugsPerform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolvedDevelop and apply testing processes for new and existing products to meet client needsTrack quality assurance metrics, like defect densities and open defect countsPerform 508 functional testing on applications/systems utilizing various 508 compliance tools such as JAWS, ZoomText and Dragon Naturally Speaking Must be able to work well within a team environment and have exceptional collaboration skills with all levels of business and technical staffInteract with Federal and contractor functional leads to clarify requirements and scenariosDefine and refine functional testing approaches, tools, and documentationCreate, update and maintain application/system, integration and regression test casesPerform full cycles of sprint, regression, and integration testing Generate test summary reports after each testing cycle to show testing progress, actual testing results, and pass/fail statusServe as a functional testing subject matter expert to assist other test engineers as neededParticipate in regular project status meetings, track and communicate testing progress, issues and risksAssist the Federal and contractor resources to conduct User Acceptance TestingRespond to developers' questions regarding test results, bugs and defectsCommunicate frequently with customers and team members, facilitating discussions and exercising professional judgment as requiredStay up-to-date with new testing tools and test strategiesMentor junior testing personnel as required  Qualifications 5+ years’ experience in testing software applicationsExperience working in an Agile/Scrum development process and SDLC work environmentsProficient with Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Visio) Experience in writing clear, concise and comprehensive test plans and test casesExperience with 508 functional testingExperience with defect tracking/requirements management tool, desired technologies include: IBM Rational Suite, (ClearQuest, Requirements Pro, Functional Test)Experience in all phases of software testing including test planning, functional testing, and regression testingProven work experience in software quality assuranceStrong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processesFunctional knowledge of SQL and scriptingExperience with performance and/or security testing is a plusCurrent active IRS Moderate Background Investigation (MBI) clearance a plus

 

Education: 

Bachelors degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related scientific /technical discipline and 5+ years’ experience

 Clearance:

Must be US Citizen or US Lawful Permanent ResidentMust be Federal Tax CompliantThe ability to pass a Tier 2/Modest Background Investigation (Current IRS clearance preferred)

Salary Information: 

The pay for this position ranges from $82,000 to $102,500The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
