Raytheon is looking for a Solution Architect that has a blend of traditional and transformational attributes.

•A Sr. Solution Architect has three primary interfaces (the client, the business unit, and the engineers), each of which have different goals.  Successful candidates demonstrate the ability to develop solutions that balance the needs of all three communities, and the ability to explain the rationale for the solution to each in a way that addresses their interests and goals.

•Operational experience with U.S. Navy, U.S. Army and/or U.S. Marines programs (execution, acquisition lifecycle)

•DevOps & Agile Software Development practices experience

•Ability to combine technical expertise with strong customer communication skills.

•Diverse experience across government customers (i.e., mixture of both DoD and IC agency experience).

•Experience in roles beyond traditional Hardware, Software and Systems Engineering (i.e., Capture Management, Program Management, BD, etc.).

•Consultative approach to client interactions; ability to listen to high-level client discussions and correlate that information into an understanding of the customer’s pain points.

•Creativity and entrepreneurial philosophy in implementing new solutions leveraging and expanding upon RIS technical offerings.  Includes providing input on new technologies RIS should develop, partners RIS should team with, companies RIS should consider within an acquisition strategy. 

•Ability to work across large, matrixed engineering organizations within a traditional government contracting environment while balancing transformation with risk management.

Required Skills:

•12+ years of applicable experience developing technical solutions for large complex systems, demonstrating a high degree of ingenuity, creativity, and resourcefulness 

•Experience leading systems engineering activities to include requirements development, architectural artifact creation, technical approach, and execution of or work products.

•Experience developing and responding to technical documentation (i.e., technical presentations, RFP/RFI, white papers, proposal technical volumes, etc.) as a means to inform, enhance, and convey technological understanding of a given capability.

•Experience in the acquisition lifecycle, with the ability to lead and/or contribute as a technical subject-matter expert with respect to large, multi-functional proposal opportunities.

•Ability to work in ambiguously defined, data sparse mission areas and “dig in“ on unfamiliar technologies, programs, and customers to drive business and technical strategy (i.e., work in whitespace with evolving requirements, architecture) 

•Experience collaborating with customers in developing technical requirements/solutions and technology roadmaps to solve critical pain points 

•Broad understanding of the Intelligence Community, DoD, and commercial tasking, collection, processing, exploitation and dissemination architectures, capabilities, authorities, and operational policies across national agencies to drive solutions at the intersection of technology and agency policy 

•Experience in architecting and designing solutions, and overseeing systems integration planning to respond to Requests for Proposals and enterprise program delivery for US Government customers 

•Ability to assist in strategic planning of new technologies and opportunity pipelines.  This includes the demonstrated ability to develop and communicate a business case for technology investment to senior management and executive audiences 

Required Education:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline

Desired Education: 

Master of Science in Engineering, Math, or Applied Physics.

U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance on day one of employment.

Typically requires:

A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience, or

An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years experience Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Typically requires a degree

in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 12 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited

by local laws/regulations.
