Job Title: Senior Specialist, Systems Engineering – Avionics Job Code: 18433 Job Location: Waco, TX (On-Site or Remote) Job Schedule: 1st Shift 9/80 Job Description: L3Harris is actively seeking an Avionics Systems Engineer (SE) to support requirements, design, development, test, and integration of complex, specialized hardware/software systems installed on ground and airborne platforms. Essential Functions: + Assist in the Design and development of physical architectures incorporating CNS/ATM equipment into airborne systems for military and commercial customers. + Translate the customer requirements into unique verifiable system level requirements. + Define requirement traceability methods. + Assist in leading the systems engineering trade study processes. + Review trade studies for accuracy and completeness. + Write subsystem specifications based on system level requirements. + Review alternative solutions and help establish the system design. + Review and evaluate technical data package (electrical wiring diagrams, mechanical integration drawings, analysis reports, etc.) to ensure design details trace to system requirements. + Write effective verification test procedures ensuring system performance and capabilities meet system requirements. + Prepare effective presentations to communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical professionals. + Use of standard Microsoft Office suite of applications + Operate within a Product Lifecycle Manager (PLM); TeamCenter preferred + Conducting first article verification testing + Excellent written, oral, and presentation communication skills + Working with subcontractors and US Government customers. + Working successfully both independently and in a team environment with the ability to lead teams through a system development and integration cycle. + Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance. + Other duties as assigned by Supervisor. Qualifications: + Bachelor’s degree with six (6) years of Avionics Systems Engineering experience. + Graduate Degree with four (4) years of Avionics Systems Engineering experience. + In Lieu of a degree, a minimum of ten (10) years of Avionics Systems Engineering experience + Must be a US Citizen.
