Job Description:
The Sr Specialist, Systems Engineer position is part of a team that supports the requirements, design, development, test, and integration of complex, specialized hardware/software systems installed on ground and airborne communications platforms.
Essential Functions:
+ Understand physical architectures incorporating voice, video, and data capability across multiple security domains.
+ Review and evaluate electrical wiring diagrams to ensure design details trace to system requirements.
+ Understand test, integration, verification, and validation planning.
+ Write effective verification test procedures ensuring system performance and capabilities meet system requirements.
+ Translate the voice of the customer into system level requirements.
+ Perform requirement traceability.
+ Develop and evaluate trade studies for accuracy and completeness.
+ Write subsystem specifications based on system level requirements.
+ Evaluate alternative solutions and establish preliminary system designs.
+ Prepare effective presentations to communicate technical information to non-technical professionals.
+ Understand requirement traceability.
+ Be able to prepare effective presentations to communicate technical information to non-technical professionals.
+ Hands-on experience with testing, integrating, and verifying software and/or hardware.
+ Aircraft communication system integration and communications ground/flight test support.
+ RF distribution systems including RF down-converting, up-converting, transceivers, non-blocking switching, and electrically phase matched distribution architectures.
+ Troubleshooting and multi-level testing for RF applications.
+ Knowledge of requirement traceability methods and purpose.
+ Knowledge of the systems engineering trade study process.
+ Writing subsystem specifications based on system level requirements.
+ Conducting verification testing.
+ Excellent written, oral, and presentation communications skills
+ Working with subcontractors and US Government customers.
+ Developing, authoring, and implementing system test plans.
+ Willingness to travel up to 25%.
+ Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s Degree with six (6) years of design, development, test, and integration of hardware, and software systems experience
+ OR master’s degree with four (4) years of design, development, test, and integration of hardware, and software systems experience
+ In lieu of a degree a minimum of ten (10) years of design, development, test, and integration of hardware, and software systems experience
+ Must successfully pass an FAA Class III Flight Physical.
+ Active Top Secret with SCI is required at the time of hire.
+ Must be a US Citizen.
Preferred Additional Skills:
+ Security+ Professional Certification.
+ Agile experience.
