Job Description:
The Contracts Lead influences successful business outcomes in order to achieve key business and financial objectives for orders, revenue recognition, operating income and free cash flow for new and continuing programs. Provides business, contractual and risk mitigation strategy guidance. Analyzes new laws, regulations and contract trends for potential impact on business unit goals and objectives. Protects the interest of the company by understanding and interpreting contractual terms and conditions. Utilizes working knowledge of regulations including Uniform Commercial Code (UCC), the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), FAR supplements (e.g. DFARS) and other agency regulations. Analyzes significant and/or unique contract requirements, special provisions, terms and conditions to ensure compliance with appropriate laws, regulations and corporate policies and procedures. Manages the contractual review of solicitations, proposal development, contract change control process and overall contract administration. Establishes and maintains primary contractual interface with the customer. Maximizes cash through innovative contract formation and negotiation to achieve business objectives.
Essential Functions:
+ Senior professional with strong knowledge of job area and broad knowledge of project management.
+ Recommend contract changes, including major revisions and coordinates the preparation and final negotiation of change orders, supplemental agreements, price re-determination, etc. affecting the life of the contract.
+ Ensure compliance with regulatory and company requirements to protect the company.
+ Monitors internal progress of contracts with various business units to ensure fulfillment of contract requirements.
+ Monitors and reviews for completeness, accuracy and conformance with Federal and Defense procurement regulations and company procedural requirements.
+ Prepares all necessary internal reports for management and periodic reports to customer contracting officers/buyers as required.
+ Assists in developing policies, procedures and practices relating to contract administration.
+ Up to 20% travel
Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant contracts experience.
+ Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related contracts experience.
+ In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related contracts experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
+ Ability to act as liaison/consultant with external and internal customers on all matters affecting contractual agreements.
+ Solid understanding of contract requirements and ability to manage these requirements in accordance with FAR and DFAR Rocketdyne & L3Harris Directives and procedures to meet Program goals.
+ Ability to quantify an issue/situation and then become actively involved in developing an action plan to achieve a successful result and covering all aspects of the given situation.
+ Capable of guiding your team through contractual matters using your contract experience and Aerojet Rocketdyne command media knowledge.
+ Strong oral and written communication skills to interact effectively with leadership representing outside organizations and/or within the company.
+ Knowledge of manufacturing environment highly desired.
