The Global Supply Management (GSM) Function is recognized as a critical function for business success. It delivers the training, tools and opportunities needed to create innovative solutions for the function & the corporation. GSM has leading edge, effective processes to anticipate and exceed customer requirements.
**ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
+ Transportation Execution:
+ Book, confirm, and schedule shipments with Corning logistics providers
+ Daily data entry of milestones and updates for all Corning global ocean and air shipments
+ Provide track and trace support or escalation support across all modes of transportation: ocean, air, truck, parcel, rail
+ Manage daily Hot List of critical shipments; communicate updates to key stakeholders
+ Input and manage key transportation transactional data in ERP system (ex: transit times, order close outs, etc.)
+ Ensure logistics procedures are being followed throughout the shipment process
+ Participate and/or host daily/weekly/monthly operational review meetings
+ Submit air freight approvals (PTAs)
+ Exception Management:
+ Drive Routing Guide compliance through proactive engagement and audits
+ Submit and management carrier spot quotes as needed
+ Manage weekly and monthly freight payment exception management
+ Ad hoc:
+ Ownership of site-specific or division-specific logistics management (ex: reel returns)
+ Support Trade Compliance processes (ex: documentation handoff)
+ Host site-specific logistics training
**Education & Experience**
+ Bachelor’s Degree in business, finance, logistics, supply chain management, data analytics, or relevant field of study
+ 1-3 years logistics experience preferred
**Required Skills**
+ Proficiency in Microsoft 365
+ Communication skills for working with stakeholders, across functions, countries and cultures, both internally and externally
+ Ability to work independently and in a team environment
+ Demonstrates time management and prioritization skills
