Position Summary:
Senior staff accountant involved in financial month end close process for multiple domestic businesses. Responsible for closing certain areas, including journal entry preparation and reconciling accounts. Verifies accuracy of financial records and assists in maintaining month end close related documents. Supports the external audit data requests by professional service providers. Prepares variance analysis for related accounts and shares results with management and FP&A. Participates in cross functional teams to improve processes and solve business problems.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Reconcile, analyze, and maintain general ledger accounts for multiple domestic entities.
+ Perform cash reconciliations.
+ Support monthly closing activities by preparing, verifying, and entering accurate journal entries into general ledgers. Researches accounting issues and ensures adherence to GAAP.
+ Maintain audit-ready support schedules behind each account.
+ Assist in audit process and ensures quality and accurate support is prepared and available for the auditors by the requested deadline.
+ Assist is identifying process improvements in the accounting close process, including to both quality and efficiency.
+ Document reconciliations, journal entries, and performed tasks in the Blackline system to allow for ease of review.
+ Review variances in accounts and investigate unusual fluctuations. Prepare concise and adequately detailed responses for use by accounting management and finance teams.
+ Assist with consolidation process including uploading ledgers into consolidation tool, analyzing consolidated data, and maintaining certain consolidated summary schedules.
+ Serve as a business partner to operational leaders by performing a variety of analysis and providing informational data to operational users to allow them to make informed business decisions.
+ Maintain supplemental cash flow support on a quarterly basis.
+ Perform other duties as assigned.
Education:
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited higher learning institution
+ CPA strongly preferred
Minimum Qualifications:
+ Minimum 3-5 years of accounting experience, with a focus on financial reporting and general ledger maintenance
+ Public accounting experience preferred.
+ Exposure to various accounting software packages with at least an intermediate knowledge of Excel
+ Experience with acquisitions and business combinations accounting preferred.
+ Must possess a solid grasp of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
+ Must possess excellent attention to detail and analytical skills to reconcile, analyze and maintain all general ledger entries, make appropriate recommendations to improve the process, to analyze income and balance sheet accounts, and prepare various analytical reports
+ Must possess good interpersonal skills to deal effectively with different levels of management within the organization and to interact well with financial personnel from other locations
+ Must possess excellent organizational and planning skills to be able to handle a variety of responsibilities concurrently, adhere to deadlines and to assist in closing the books in a timely manner on a monthly basis
+ Must possess strong communication skills to develop and document policies and procedures, and to explain findings of analysis to others
+ Must have a strong desire to work as part of a team with unwavering ethical behavior
+ Must demonstrate financial modeling, problem solving, and quantitative skills
+ Thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, efficiently works under pressures, within deadlines or other time essential constraints.
+ Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to clearly and concisely communicate to all levels of the organization.
+ Strong work ethic and an ability to excel within a rapidly changing and growing organization.
Compensation & Benefits:
+ Salary Range: $75k-$85k, depending on location, experience, and qualifications.
