Overview Coordinates and performs various accounting duties related to the completion of the Financial Close Process. The Senior Staff Accountant's key responsibilities include updating standard costing, analyzing freight costs, balancing inventory accounts, preparing related month-end journal entries, maintaining the general ledger, performing account reconciliations, analytically reviewing general ledger month-end balances and assisting with the preparation of data for internal and external audit requests. Responsibilities Essential Functions/Primary Responsibilities: Perform general cost accounting and other related duties for the organization. Update standard cost value in system for new items. Prepare and update Annual Labor and Overhead rate calculations. Organize monthly freight reconciliation process, complete freight related processing, and prepare related journal entries. Prepare warehouse accrual and analyze overall warehouse costs analytically. Accumulate monthly inventory analysis and prepare journal entries for inventory using multiple systems of source data. Calculate inventory obsolescence reserves to reserve raw materials and packaging inventory that is categorized at risk or planned for destruction. Create and maintain auto recurring entries in SAP. Prepare balance sheet reconciliations for related areas and others as deemed necessary. Assist with year-end leases analysis finalization and summary. Annually complete subsequent disbursement testing analyzing the results to determine if an adjustment is needed. Assist with physical inventory preparation, execution, and reporting. Perform SOX controls on a timely and accurate basis. Accumulate SOX control testing support throughout the year. Assist with year-end closing and related schedules. Aid in the gathering of necessary documentation for both internal and external auditors. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Qualification Requirements: Bachelor's degree in accounting, preferred. At least 3-5 years of related experience required. SAP S4/Hanna experience, preferred. Proficient with Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) Understanding of AS400 (Prism/JDE) Understanding of and ability to adhere to GAAP.
