About Rivian Rivian is on a mission to keep the world adventurous forever. This goes for the emissions-free Electric Adventure Vehicles we build, and the curious, courageous souls we seek to attract. As a company, we constantly challenge what’s possible, never simply accepting what has always been done. We reframe old problems, seek new solutions and operate comfortably in areas that are unknown. Our backgrounds are diverse, but our team shares a love of the outdoors and a desire to protect it for future generations. Role Summary In this role within the Autonomy Hardware team, you will collaborate closely with Software, Hardware, System, and SoC groups to define and develop the infrastructure for system performance characterization of the next-generation autonomy SoC. Your focus will be on enabling SoC solutions for autonomous vehicles, building validation and benchmarking frameworks to identify gaps and risks at the component, module, system, and vehicle levels, and contributing to hardware architecture decisionmaking processes. Additionally, you will work with cross-functional teams to gather all system level requirements and ensure that the validation results align with the performance specifications outlined by the architecture. Responsibilities Develop a validation framework, including necessary hardware and software components, to enable early bring-up and validation of the next-generation SoC platform for advanced autonomy. This includes: Enabling software bring-up and validation in a SoC environment. Developing test software to validate functional blocks within the SoC environment. Enabling system-level performance benchmarking based on complex use cases. Collaborating with the DV team to uncover issues or performance bottlenecks. Performing bring-up and validation tasks in the lab on PCB boards, hardware modules, and platforms. Validate and perform system characterization on I/O protocols, compute engines, and networking components, including: Developing and executing in-system validation of end-to-end traffic from sensors to ECUs. Working with the Systems and Perception teams to create and execute test plans for the autonomy system. Developing test software for in-system validation.
