You will be our thought leader in identity, authentication and user-facing security, advising and guiding customers and internal product development teams. A great fit is someone who loves leading the development of customer experiences, infrastructure, and tooling to secure and protect our customer data and accounts as if they were your own.  What You’ll DoOwn the strategy for AppFolio’s identity and access management systems with a customer-focused lensDevelop a 3 year vision, annual strategy and roadmap, and appropriate metrics for identity and access management in APMWork closely with product development teams, customers, Data Ops, Security, and other internal stakeholders on identity, authentication, and user permissions initiativesDefine experiments and measure user behavior to inform prioritization and build-outsDevelop a point-of-view on what AppFolio should own (build or acquire) and what we should partner on as related to identity, authentication, and user permissions systems Be acknowledged as an expert in property management and product management while showcasing your talents at 1-3 events per year in a speaker capacity  What We’re Looking For10+ years of product experience with 7+ years in the identity domainExpertise and strong interest in identity, authentication, authorization, user roles and permissions; excited by protecting our customers and our businessExpert in identity & access management landscape and trends for B2B and B2C productsTechnical background (Bachelor’s degree in a technical field, experience working as a software or data engineer is a plus) with interest to get into the codeStrong knowledge of data security best practices (data classification, data encryption, data storage) as well as data privacy laws (GDPR, CCPA)Experience with payments / fintech products is a plusExperience working as a product manager for a platform team  Must Haves:Communication: Leaders across the organization are able to articulate what is being worked on by your team, the objectives, and the expected outcome.Navigate vagueness: Your team will approach ambiguous problems with thoughtful experimentation.Customer Focus: Yourself, along with all reporting product product managers, are participating in customer visits and interviews.Collaboration: Strong relationship-building, connecting people across the organization and our customers.Urgency: Instill a strong sense of urgency and focus to deliver value for the organization constantly within team.Persistence: Resilience and persistence to achieve business outcomes in the face of adversity.Passionate: Exhibit passion and enthusiasm for AppFolio, your team, and our customers.Adaptable: Able to quickly reprioritize work.Strategic: Able to articulate product priorities and investments.  You’ll love this job if you:Are adaptable and enjoy change - we have all the opportunities and challenges an established yet rapidly growing company facesLove learning - our industry and technology space is always evolving, the technologies we support are numerousAre intellectually curious and value critical thinking - the Why behind the What is important to youFocus on outcomes - Outcomes take priority over outputs  What We OfferYou’ll have the potential for long-term ownership, and the opportunity to work across our mature customer base and with the newer growth customer segments that all rely on these core experiencesThis is a high impact role - you’ll be building a domain that serves a large current customer base and the long-term growth of the product and companyThe team is awesome!We release to all customers every day, continuouslyWork hybrid in SB or SD, or fully remoteCompetitive compensation and equity packages Compensation & BenefitsThe base salary/hourly wage that we reasonably expect to pay for this role is: $184,000 - $230,000. The actual base salary/hourly wage for this role will be determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to: the candidate’s skills, education, experience, etc. Please note that base pay is one important aspect of a compelling Total Rewards package. The base pay range indicated here does not include any additional benefits or bonuses/commissions that you may be eligible for based on your role and/or employment type.
