Position Summary
The Strategic Partner Management team is responsible for managing our business relationships with partners in the Samsung Smart TV and hardware ecosystems.Samsung Electronics America is recruiting a Strategic Partner Manager to join the Service Partnership Group. The Strategic Partner Manager serves as the face of Samsung to some of our most important partners. The SPM team is responsible managing our business relationships with partners in the Samsung Smart TV and peripherals such as 3D Monitors, participating in the development of innovative experiences across Samsung’s entire device ecosystem.
This position will focus on bringing brand new hardware opportunities to game studios, publishers and gaming platforms. Responsibilities include initial outreach and defining partnership structure, ensuring success between both partner and Samsung. You will need to have a deep understanding of gaming ecosystems, technology trends and platforms, and evolving business models. You will also need a keen sense of product awareness to articulate platform value and represent product requirements. Exceptional relationship-building skills and the ability to dive deeply into both business and technical issues will be critical to success in this role.
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, as well as a strong analytical bent and the ability to navigate and embrace complexity. They will demonstrate knowledge of verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to lead meetings, drive presentations, and represent Samsung to all levels of partner organizations. Experience administering complex partnerships at a major app-store or service ecosystem is preferred, and the candidate must have experience managing a team towards ambitious goals in a fast-paced environment.
Role and Responsibilities
Lead the development and execution of partnership strategies with gaming content partners to support Samsung’s Visual Display product portfolio.Identify, negotiate and manage partnership agreements with content partners, including game publishers, developers, and platforms.Collaborate with internal teams, including the Samsung HQ Business Development, R&D, and CX teams, to ensure successful integration and deployment of gaming content across Samsung products.Monitor and evaluate the performance of partnerships, providing regular updates and insights to senior management.Represent Samsung at industry events, conferences, and meetings to promote Samsung products and explore potential collaborations.Set strategy and business objectives per partner; define and track KPIs; take responsibility for mobilizing partners and internal resources to execute to meet goalsLead partner meetings and prepare strategy documents, quarterly business reviews, and executive presentationsSupport Samsung’s business objectives and align partnership priorities with key stakeholders across Visual Display product portfolio.Skills and Qualifications
Required Qualifications
BA/BS required7+ years of experience in business development, partnerships, or publishing relations within the gaming industryAttention to detail and organizational skills to work cross-functionally with internal teams to launch productsStrong experience sourcing in a gaming environment with a demonstrated track record of helping drive a broad range of PC and console game partnership deals.Experience in deal structuring, including a strong understanding of legal considerations, with a focus on long term joint business planningExceptional analytical abilities with a deep knowledge of current and developing industry trends in the gaming market, awareness of competitors, and new business opportunities.Ability to deal with ambiguity, solve complex problems, and navigate large, global organizationsPassionate about technology, gaming and new media trendsSelf-motivated, assertive, analytical, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environmentOperational experience managing complex partnershipsExperience interpreting and administering complex contracts, interfacing with legal teamsCompensation for this role, for candidates based in Mountain View, CA, is expected to be between $160,000 ~ $210,000. Actual pay will be determined considering factors such as relevant skills and experience, and comparison to other employees in the role.
