Sr. Supervisor
General Description This position is responsible for supervising a team of five Operational Analyst. This individual will be responsible for the preparation of Popular Insurance and Popular Risk Services regulatory reporting to the Office of the insurance Commissioner.  Manage the commission payments to Producers and premium remittance to the insurance carriers. In addition, will ensure that pending items in the revenue, receivable and payable accounts are investigated and solved to reduce the possibility of impacting the organization’s accounting records, minimize operational losses and/or audit recommendations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Establish unit goals and action plans. Determine work procedures, prepare work schedules, assign and monitor work to improve effectiveness. Develop analysis and recurrent reports for management to measure the units’ goals and results. Provide concise data reports and clear data visualization for management. Responsible for developing, updating and supporting Power BI Dashboards. Support new projects and provide recommendations to increase operational efficiency within and outside the unit. Prepares and submits regulatory reporting to the Office of Puerto Rico Insurance Commissioner. Ensure that production reported to the insurance carriers is accurate and payments are processed as stated in the contracts. Approve commission payments to internal and external Producers. Approve premium disbursements to carriers and customers. Ensure that pending items in the revenue, receivable and payable accounts are resolved within the business time frame. Establish efficient follow-up procedures for the collection of commissions generated by the insurance entities. Monitors the unclaimed process to ascertain compliance with laws and regulations.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Directly supervises full time employees.  Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.  Coach and develop employees.  Foster a spirit of teamwork that allows for disagreement over ideas as well as diversity.

Education Bachelor's Degree in AccountingExperience

At least five years of related experience.

Other Qualifications Demonstrates attention to detail with strong aptitude for performing complex analysis. Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g. Excel, Power Query, Power Bi, Power automate) and experience with visualization tools (e.g.,Power BI) Strong problem solving- solving and critical thinking abilities with a keep attention to details. Identifies and recommends opportunities and solutions to increase operational efficiency, optimize resources and increase accuracy. Presents organized and thorough information and data appropriate for intended audience. Demonstrates group presentation skills and excellent negotiation skills to deal effectively with individuals and groups within and outside the organization. Demonstrates diligent follow-up skills. Prioritize regular workload, special tasks and concurrent projects, allocating time and resources to ensure that work is completed accurately and efficiently with an established time frame.
