The Opportunity

This position works out of our Sylmar, CA location in the Medical Device IT supporting R&D IT.  

As the Sr. Systems Analyst, you’ll have the chance to you’ll have the chance to create technical/functional specifications, support new and existing applications and processes to enable development teams to release medical device software and systems more rapidly. You’ll work collaboratively with other IT operational and software engineering teams to deploy and operate our systems/platforms and support client utilization. You will also be responsible for automating and streamlining our operations and processes, along with building and maintaining tools for deployment, and monitoring setup for operational use.

What You’ll Work On

Manage and enhance CI/CD infrastructure and tools to improve the development workflow for numerous different development teamsProvide technical support to Developers, Testers and Engineers on company supported softwareAdminister Jenkins suite of applications and troubleshoot issues in development tools such as Jira, Bitbucket, Nexus, Confluence, Coverity, and AccuRev.Responsible for building, architecting and developing IT solutionsExperience in creating, managing and troubleshooting shell scriptsExperience upgrading applications, server migrations, cybersecurity threats and monitoring, and penetration testingCreate and present system design diagrams and technical implementation details to engineers and partner IT teamsCollaborate with partner IT staff to improve processes and infrastructure setup. Identify manual processes within the organization and automate themContribute to end-user training as needed and be comfortable providing day-to-day supportCommunicate trends and new developments in technology (cybersecurity, AI, and monitoring) to advise on current state best practices for implementing solutionsCommunicates effectively with management to enhance their understanding of the opportunities and limitations of information systemsConform to and enforce planned work priority in the face of continued interruptionsComplies with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, company policies, adheres to operating procedures, processes, and completes task assignments within the assigned sprintWorks with infrastructure engineers and other application teams to implement solutions that provide excellent access, throughput, availability, security and cost-effectiveness, while maintaining simplicity and industry best practicesDevelop necessary documentation, testing and change control procedures to satisfy internal product validation and update yearly for audit complianceMaintain accurate current state application architecture diagrams, documentation, and other data sources in a consistent and replicable mannerAutomate and codify supporting security systems in all phases of the SLDCDevelops detailed implementation, test and roll-back procedures for planned changes and follows code promotion model utilizing change request approvalsExtensive experience with administering R&D applications such as Repository management and version control applications (such as Bitbucket or  AccuRev), CI/CD applications (such as Jenkins), Defect tracking tools (such as ClearQuest or Jira), ALM solutions (such as DOORS, PTC Windchill RV&S, PTC Codebeamer or Polarion), Code Repositories (such as Nexus) and Static Analysis tools (such as Coverity)

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experienceMust be familiar with Agile software development methodologies and how DevOps practices are incorporated to improve delivery speed. Knowledge of JIRA sprints is helpfulFamiliar with containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and its integration functions with AzureExperience with Deploying applications and infrastructure to Azure cloud environmentsKnowledge of continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and source control applicationsAdept at multiple programming/Scripting languages such as Python, Perl, Java, Ruby, C#Experience with Azure cloud platform (Azure certification a plus)

Preferred Qualifications

Familiar with automated testing and test-driven development practicesExcellent understanding of configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, ChefKnowledge of IaC tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation)Working knowledge of Unix/Linux and Windows administrationExcellent communication and customer service skills.  Able to bridge communication between technical areas and business areas for a full and complete understanding of expectationsMust be a self-starter and possess good analytical skillsComfortable partnering with engineers to understand and solve problems that will enable you to deliver reliable software fasterAbility to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environmentAbility to travel approximately 5%, including internationally

The base pay for this position is $83,600.00 – $167,200.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
