Systems Analyst Sr. functioning as an analyst to work on documenting security and internal controls for large government information systems. This individual would prepare high quality business and technical systems documentation based on NIST 800-30 Guide for Conducting Risk Assessments and also uses the baseline for minimum recommended security controls as described in the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Special Publication (SP) 800-53 v4 Security and Privacy Controls for Federal Information Systems and Organizations. This person needs to rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. They will be responsible for performing a variety of complicated tasks; such as identifying and documenting business and system functionality, security and internal controls, solution designs, security configurations, facilitating meetings to illicit technical information, and monitoring project status. They may, at times, lead, follow up and direct the work of others. Must be a self-directed individual capable of working in a results-oriented environment.
Ability to compose, edit, produce, and deliver program documentation for various systems, both technical and non-technical in nature. Highly organized with the ability to maintain configuration and version control of documentation. Collaborative with the ability to assemble input from multiple stakeholders and interested parties. Extremely high focus on quality, with the ability to thoroughly proofread, edit, and correct documentation. Experience as a technical leader on VB.NET & ASP.NET projects where SQL Server was the database. Understanding of risk management and internal controls Expert use in electronic tools such as MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Access, MS Visio, MS Outlook and MS SharePoint.
At least 5 years of experience in developing documentation including user guides, operators manuals, and technical configuration documentation. At least 8 years of experience as a business analyst capturing functional and system designs. At least 8 years of experience serving as a facilitator gathering and documenting technical information. At least 8 years of experience serving as a project manager or technical leader. At least 8 years’ experience as a technical leader where the platform was SQL Server & VB.NET/ASP.NET.
At least 5 years of experience in developing mandated documentation to meet systems engineering lifecycle and system security requirements. At least 5 years of experience in interpreting technical drawings and specifications for incorporation into technical documentation. Experience with National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Special Publication (SP) 800-53 v4 Security and Privacy Controls for Federal Information Systems and Organizations. Experience with PCI (Payment Card Industry) Compliance Experience auditing IT systems using COBIT 5 for Information Security.
Possession of a bachelor's degree with no less than 21 semester (32 term) credits in computer science, data processing, computer information systems, networking, systems analysis, computer programming or mathematics. Possession of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Business Management, Accounting, Auditing, Information Security, Research, or Risk Management.
Candidate must have their own means of transportation as there is not any public transportation that services this facility. Candidate will need to travel to meetings in Downtown Lansing area. Must be able to attend face to face interview. The manager will not consider phone/Skype interviews. 6/4/15: Update from manager, they don’t have to be a solid developer. They might be in a position to look at code so they would have to be able to read it, but no writing of code.
