About The Role:

CrowdStrike is in search of a Senior Systems Engineer to join our growing Production Infrastructure Engineering team. The candidate will play an important role in the architecture and management of our production systems environments. 

 

What You'll Do:

Oversee and coordinate technical resources for the purpose of driving both internal and external team projects to completion

Analyze requirements and develop solutions of technical problems based on complex business needs

Hold regular, frequent project meetings to address challenges and drive milestones

Report regularly to leadership on the status of critical projects

Understand complex technical systems architecture and make recommendations for improvement

Represent the systems team as a technical leader and provide direction and insight for projects, discovery, and problem management

Familiarity with large-scale production deployments of servers and applications inside internal datacenter

Ability to write moderate to complex scripts and programs for developing automation, tools, frameworks, dashboards, alarms. (common uses: Python, Perl, PHP, JavaScript, Go)

 

What You’ll Need:

Experience leading projects and delivering solutions through completion

Expertise with Bare Metal Orchestration services (Canonical MaaS, OpenStack Ironic, etc)

Expertise with Linux engineering and administration for thousands of bare metal and virtual machines

Experience with deployment and management of container orchestration services (Kubernetes)

Experience with virtualization technologies (VMWare ESXi, OpenStack Nova)

Experience with CI/CD systems such as GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins

Experience with configuration management like Chef, Ansible, Salt

7+ years of engineering experience, preferably in a production role

2-3 business related trips per year for group meetings

Bonus Points:

Knowledge of protocols such as DNS, HTTP, SMTP, SNMP

Knowledge of OSI model

Knowledge of block storage solutions, such as TrueNAS, Ceph

Knowledge of monitoring solutions, such as Prometheus, Grafana and Zabbix

Knowledge with threat intelligence and mobile technology a plus

Ability to Demonstrate:

Self-learning capabilities, taking initiative in a fast pace/quickly changing environment

Work effectively and professionally with cross-functional groups across divisions, worldwide, as part of a team

Team-player, positive attitude and flexible with a distributed team in multiple time zone

Must exhibit meticulous attention to detail, and have the ability to make good, timely decisions

Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required

CrowdStrike, Inc. is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The base salary range for this position in the U.S. is $135,000 - $215,000 per year + variable/incentive compensation + equity + benefits. A candidate's salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications, job level, supervisory status, and location.
