Job Description

Visa's Corporate IT, Workplace Technologies team is looking for an experienced Unified Communications Systems Engineer focused on Microsoft Teams. Our team is continuing to modernize our communication and video conference platforms with a cloud-first mentality. Our goal is to ensure everyone within Visa is able to securely and effectively communicate in real-time with anyone in the world. This candidate is a thought leader and has a deep technical understanding how Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Teams Rooms (MTR), Microsoft Voice, and Audiocodes are built and supported. The ideal candidate will be able to understand and explain the technical architecture, industry best practices, security/proxy designs, network signal flows, and reporting root cause analysis around Microsoft Teams.

This role will be highly collaborative and responsible for key partnerships with AV, Telephony, IT, Security, and UCaaS vendors. This person will be a key driver in designing and implementing third-party integrations, automations, migrations, and being an escalation for complex Microsoft Teams issues. It’s very important for this candidate to have a positive can-do attitude, getting into the technical weeds, tenacity in solving problems, strong team player, and be able to communicate effectively with stakeholders.  

Essential Functions:

Architect, plan, and migrate legacy video conference infrastructure to the cloud.   Support MTR and AV systems in conference rooms, auditoriums, studios, training rooms, and open collaboration spaces  Provide engineering support for live events using Microsoft Teams Live Events  Help administer and set policies for MS Teams, Microsoft Voice, and Audiocodes  Support telephony infrastructure for softphones and desk phones for end-users  Perform proof-of-concept (POC) tests and validation on new and emerging UCaaS and AV technologies  Provide tier 3 engineering support for escalated issues and resolve tickets within established SLAs  Establish global relationships and ensure regional handoffs are performed for escalated issues  Train IT helpdesk, Exec IT, engineers, and end-users on how to use Microsoft Teams and MTRs  Create design documents, wikis, and how-to instructions  Work with the Information Security Office to ensure solutions deployed meet Visa Security Requirements, provide technical assistance for investigation and analysis of security alerts, and maintain system security for voice and video systems  Provide project coordination and technical review for new office builds and refresh projects to ensure they adhere to company policy, are completed on time and within budget, meet the deliverables of the project while following change control procedures  Provide stellar customer service and consult with internal clients to discuss, plan, and ensure their requirements for their meetings and events are properly supported  Work well with others and collaborate with a positive can-do attitude  Demonstrate the ability to work successfully with diverse cultures while accommodating global time zone constraints  


This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Basic Qualifications

2+ years of relevant work experience and a Bachelors degree, OR 5+ years of relevant work experience


Preferred Qualifications

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 100,000.00 to 141,250.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
