Sr. Systems Engineer- Workday (Remote)

The Senior Engineer plays a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining seamless integrations between Workday and other systems, ensuring data flows accurately and securely across various platforms. This role requires a deep understanding of Workday’s integration technologies, such as Workday Studio, EIB (Enterprise Interface Builder), Core Connectors, Workday Web Services (SOAP/REST) and Workday’s API capabilities. The engineer collaborates closely with cross-functional teams including Finance and IT to create scalable, efficient, and reliable integrations that support core business processes. The engineer will also work closely with business and technical stakeholders to gather requirements, develop custom solutions, and troubleshoot integration-related issues. Experience with the Workday Adaptive Planning module is also highly desirable, as the role may involve integrating financial planning and analysis data between Workday Adaptive and other systems.

Essential Functions

Clarifies technical requirements and influences decisions that lead to the right solutions.Provides estimates for work effort required.Problem-Solving & Troubleshooting: Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex integration issues in a timely mannerDesign and Develop Workday Integrations: Utilize Workday Studio, EIB, Core Connectors, and APIs to design and develop integrations between Workday and third-party systems (financial systems, and data warehouses). Data Transformation & Mapping: Perform complex data mapping and transformations, ensuring that data is accurately converted and formatted across different systems and applications.Accountable and creates all technical deliverables including technical design specifications, diagrams, flows, and documentation of all configuration changesManages the source control repository for assigned applications.Maintain and Optimize Existing Integrations: Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize existing integrations for performance, scalability, and reliability, applying best practices in error handling and data integrity.Documentation and Support: Provide comprehensive documentation for all integration solutions and offer ongoing technical support to resolve issues and enhance system functionality. Develops detailed system implementation plan.Security and Compliance: Ensure that all integrations comply with security standards, ensuring data privacy, integrity, and confidentiality, particularly in sensitive areas such as HR and financial data.Designs and develops support fixes, small enhancements, and coding for major projects.Provides warranty period, and often post-warranty, production support for applications in area of responsibility.Supports the Project Manager in post-implementation reviews and incorporating lessons learned into future work and standards.

Required Skills and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Computer Science or related field.5-8 years of experienceExtensive experience working with Workday Financials moduleExperience as Software Engineer/Developer or other similar technology position in retail or related domain.Experience with 3rd party software implementations, and consultants/contractorsExperience with the following technologies: Workday Studio, Workday Core Connectors and Document Transformation, Workday Advanced XML, Workday custom fields configuration and Administration, Workday integrations EIB/DTS, Workday Report Writer, Workday calculated fields, Experience with SOAP, XSLT, Report Designer (BIRT), Workday Web Services (WWS)

Preferred Qualifications:

Certifications in Workday Integration or Workday Studio, with expertise in Workday FinancialsWorkday Adaptive Planning Experience: Knowledge and experience integrating Workday Adaptive Planning with other systems, handling data flows related to financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting.
