Sr. Systems Test Engineer
Marmon Foodservice Technologies, Inc.

Come join a team where People make the difference!  As a part of Marmon Holdings, Inc., a highly decentralized organization, we rely heavily on people with the aptitude, attitude, and entrepreneurial spirit to drive our success, and we're committed to attracting and retaining top talent.

About The Job
Though you may not know us by name, you’ve most likely enjoyed meals and refreshments supported by our industry-leading brand portfolio. For decades, we’ve designed and manufactured foodservice equipment for some of the world’s biggest, most recognized consumer brands. We are driven to innovate with a clear purpose in mind: to enhance the eating and drinking experience, nourishing the people and communities we serve.

As Sr. Systems Test Engineer, you will be responsible for breaking down engineering solutions into sub-systems (mechanical, power, electronics, refrigeration, fluid, etc…) and drive verification, validation and experimental testing in the laboratory. You will apply statistical rigor to the team’s work, reviewing test data across the laboratory for accuracy, completeness, and uncertainty and develop new efficient processes to support data analysis. In this role, you will challenge the status quo in test requests, with a bias for asking why a test is necessary and devising new and better methods in the pursuit of industry leading foodservice equipment.

What You’ll Do

Take complex system solutions and concepts; break them down into mechanical, electrical, hardware, refrigeration and software sub-systems

Develop test plans of complex systems to validate sub-systems and sub-system interactions

Utilize regression, system-wide integration, and verification testing knowledge in test plans

Lead test programs for Design Validation, Performance Evaluation and Component Selection

Develop schedules, coordinate, and manage projects of minor to major size with little to no supervision

Contribute to complex product development programs as an active team member in Failure Mode and Effect Analysis, Design Validation Plans and A3/8D analysis

Participate in design and safety reviews and provide recommendations

Observe and participate in work processes, equipment usage, and interactions (i.e., Gemba walk) to assist in prioritizing work and establishing expectations for completion of open workstreams

Drive Design of Experiments (DOE) testing to achieve more timely conclusions of trial-and-error testing

Lead failure diagnostic or forensic activities as appropriate, or partner with a third party for failure analysis to arrive at root cause of problems

Assist with implementing 5S+ principles to ensure a clean, safe, and productive laboratory environment

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, technicians, project managers, and stakeholders, to ensure project goals are met

Create datasheet and test report templates, review test data for accuracy, and finalize reports for submission to engineering or outside agency partners

Who You Are

Independent Self-Starter: Takes prompt, proactive action to accomplish work goals with limited oversight

Collaborative Partner: Uses interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams

Strategic Thinker: Relies on analytical and problem-solving skills to think strategically and execute tactically

Skills/Experience We’re Looking For

Demonstrated experience with validation and failure analysis of systems and sub-systems in foodservice and/or white goods appliances

Working experience within an ISO17025 accredited laboratory

Excellent project management and organizational skills

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work

Familiarity with relevant foodservice safety and sanitation standards and regulations

Effective communication skills and the ability to convey technical information clearly

Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
