Sr. Team Lead - Reliability Core
Technical Asset Operations (TAO), which sits in Safety, Environment & Asset Management (SEAM), is a key enabler for the accelerated delivery of Shell Performance Framework to reach Shell’s ultimate potential in Chemicals and Products (C+P), Integrated Gas/Renewables and Energy Solutions (IGRES) and Upstream. TAO provides high quality and cost-competitive technical resources who are supporting our Shell sites remotely yet are an integral part of asset teams delivering value through end-to-end AMS work processes. The TAO teams are located across 4 locations: Chennai, Manila, KL & Krakow. **What’s the role** Your role as a Senior Team Lead (STL) Reliability Core is to lead a team of reliability engineers for delivering Core Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) Studies and Reliability Engineering (RE) work scope. You will also focus on ensuring process excellence in sub-process areas for General RCM and/or Reliability Engineering. **What you’ll be doing** Technical Leadership: + Accountable for process excellence in a sub-process areas for Reliability Engineering. The person will be the go-to person in TAO for such sub-process. + Risk and Reliability Management: Provide the required technical advice/support to the teams while conducting maintenance strategy reviews for Rotating Equipment in line with Shell RRM Principles. + Assist in the integration and application of Remote Reliability Engineers into the natural asset team, while having a centralized deployment model. + Support and drive MAC CI (Manage Asset Care Continuous Improvement) initiatives in a sprint manner to sharpen focus and accelerate outcomes to achieve most values to assets e.g. on PM & CM tasks. + Work with Asset on Reliability and Availability Improvement focusing on Core RCM Studies that includes PM Strategies/Plans, PMO, BOM, Asset Care Plans (ACP) and Equipment Care Strategies (ECS). + Drive collaboration and integration with Reliability/RE engineers, site maintenance leads/technical authorities & OEMs/Vendors etc. for the development of standard work instructions, best practices, Global norms, etc. + Develop & Sustain Reliability & Quality focus/culture in the team. + Drive asset natural team setup as well as scope delivery centralization opportunities. People Management: + Ensure the teams are high performing, passionate, cohesive and have the right competencies to execute the work. STL will manage a large team with multiple complexity work scope (about 10-15 staff in total). + Coach on technical topics, processes and tools. Mentor staff on individual development and inspire and develop the staff & specialists throughout the team. + Ensure that the Competency Management Framework (CMF) is kept up to date with developments elsewhere in Shell. Manage the training budget for the team. + Create a positive working environment for staff and cultivate a strong team spirit, emphasizing a learner mindset and a culture of safety. + Provide clarity and direction to the team using GPA & other strategic and tactical business plans and provide the technical steer for assigned workstream(s) + Enable the usage of supporting technologies /IT tools and encourage the teams to have a clear asset-centricity & delivery focus. Operational delivery: + Responsible for the team’s operational delivery and performance, ensuring timely delivery with required quality control and continuous improvement, while prioritizing value delivery on the team’s agenda. + Perform regular quality checks, actively monitor progress, manage the overall team KPIs, and look for opportunities to standardize. Conduct regular huddles and meetings involving all team members, and ensure the team is compliant with applicable standards, guidelines, and local requirements. + Ensures that utilization of staff & specialists is actively managed, and an appropriate balance is maintained in providing customers with long relationships with staff and development opportunities for staff. + Coordinate and deliver recruitment and onboarding activities, while collaborating effectively within TAO and other teams (Ops Support, P&T, IT, CP, etc.). + Ensure that the trained resources are effectively deployed & the KPIs & deliverables are closely monitored & improved. + Ensure that billing, time-writing and expense claims are executed in a timely manner. Support Account, Migration, Portfolio, Quality, Talent management & Compliance: + Support the Deployment and Capability leads in managing various activities related to Accounts, Migrations, Portfolio, Quality Assurance & Talent Development. + Ensure that activities are executed in line with Shell’s policies & standards. (Data privacy/protection, HSSE&SP, DEP, AMS processes & others). + Ensure timely preparation of CTRs/TORs for proven work & ensure compliance to commercial, Tax, HR & Legal requirements. Business Dimensions: + The role will be reporting to Technical Operations Manager – Reliability Core, who reports to GM Asset Care. + Managing (up to 15 total) Team members that includes engineers & Technical Specialists. + Manage multiple stakeholders, namely various business partners in C+P, Integrated Gas and Upstream, and RES assets with other corporate businesses/ functions as well as internal peers & Leadership Teams at multiple levels. **What you bring** + Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical/Production/Industrial or any engineering discipline with preferably 10 plus years of work experience in Maintenance, Production Operations & Engineering in Reliability workstream in Oil & Gas/ Petrochemicals or any equivalent Industries. + Preferably have onsite technical field experience. Relevant certifications are an advantage. + Experience in leading Reliability & Integrity Improvement Projects onsite and large teams in a virtual environment. A track record in building and sustaining teams. + Experience of leading change in complex, multi assets/portfolio environments and a track record in building, influencing and sustaining natural teams. + Able to demonstrate in depth technical knowledge & required skill sets for the role (as per TAO competency framework). + Able to proactively manage a wide range of stakeholders at different seniority levels and experience working across different cultures. + Solid experience in program management and facilitating continuous improvement. + Sound understanding of business/process workflow and having mature mindset to deal and behave under tough/challenging situations. **What we offer** You bring your skills and experience to Shell and in return you work with talented, committed people on one of the most important challenges facing our planet.
