The Sr. Team Leader for Production Engineering and Processing supervises all operations of the Manufacturing Engineering functions.  Ensures that all production drawings and order processing meet customer requirements of cost, quality and timeliness. 

 

Kaman Specialty Bearings & Engineered Products, a division of Kaman Corporation, is a leader in the design and manufacture of high technology mechanical products used in aviation, marine, hydropower and other industrial applications. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Supervises the team to ensure high level of productivity and quality. Ensures that staff works as a team.  Leads by example, communicates information and provides training on new procedures.  Determines performance expectations, evaluates performance and provides coaching and training opportunities.  Handles employee issues in a timely way.  Prioritizes production and engineering work. Maintains appropriate staffing level.  Maintains work-flow and balance, tracks and monitors work.  Ensures that productivity and quality standards and measures are met for product line.  Communicates information to appropriate departments and individuals.  Utilizes Lean manufacturing to achieve company goals in cost, product flow, throughput, productivity, quality and delivery. Manages process developments and improvements to be executed by manufacturing cells. Streamlines processes.Makes recommendations for improvements to work processes. Ensures that group maintains 5 S program.Manages project to meet cost, quality and time-line expectations.Acts as a troubleshooter for assembly / machining process problems. Resolves problems or refers problems to appropriate individual as needed.  Works with Manufacturing Team, Engineering and Sales Representatives to resolve issues.Provides reports to management. Documents and develops controls to meet contract requirementsMaintains clean and safe work environment. Follows safety and environmental incidents to supervisorProvides a high level of service to all internal and external customers. Contributes to positive teamwork environment.  Qualifications

Education: 

Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Technology, Mechanical Engineering or Business Administration or related field

 

Experience: 

5+ years manufacturing experience preferred.  2-4 years of demonstrated leadership / project management
