Sr. Technical Program Manager, PACTS
Are you passionate about innovating on Technology at Amazon? We are looking for talented Technical Program Managers who want to lead and deliver cross-cutting Technology programs across all of the Worldwide Books and Kindle organization.

We are looking for passionate, hard-working, and talented technical program managers who have experience identifying risks and driving best practices, and new initiatives across an Org. You will have an chance to work with world-class engineers and tech leaders as you focus on improving technology, infrastructure costs, and builder experiences.

Your primary focus will be working with engineering leadership, engineering teams, and Principal Engineers to identify technology risks, efficiencies, and best practices and then drive implementation across Books. You will also own related infrastructure budget reporting, with related OP budget planning process. You will have the opportunity to work across a global organization, solving problems at scale, and defining technical approaches. This role is pivotal in driving efficient and well-engineered architectures.



Key job responsibilities
1. Own complex, cross-org programs that are transforming our technology
2. Drive alignment across senior leaders, create and maintain detailed work backward plans.
3. Collaborate with Tech Leadership, Software Development Managers and Principal Engineers on roadmaps, priorities, planning, dependency mapping, forecasting, and tradeoffs
4. Facilitate regular project meetings and provide updates to senior leadership on project status, goals, milestones, and adjustments
5. Engage with Dev Teams and Principal Engineers to evaluate technical decisions, costs, and plans.
6. Drive implementation of complex technical initiatives (including Books or Amazon wide goals) and SDLC-process changes and improvements across Books.

A day in the life
1. Meeting with Principal Engineering working groups to assess initiatives, deep-dive on issues, and review related metrics.
2. Supporting teams who have questions or blockers with infrastructure budgets or technology initiatives through office hours or 1/1 engagements; including attending sprint planning sessions.
3. Updating and tracking status of VP and Amazon related goals.
4. Deep diving on think big ideas for potential technical improvements (merging services, changing frameworks, etc) or improvements for SDE teams (training, development tools, etc).
5. Providing architecture feedback for teams including cost analysis and technical efficiencies.
