A Day in Your Life at MKS:
As an Sr. Technical Support Engineer at Spectra-Physics, you will partner with PSD Global Service team to support our research customers and our Field Service Engineers. In this role, you will report to the North American PSD Regional Global Service Manager.
You Will Make an Impact By:
+ Provide on-line and phone support for our laser systems and effectively respond to technical questions from our customers regarding system repairs and applications
+ Be in the field to install a new system or provide maintenance service, or use your troubleshooting abilities for repair
+ Provide technical support to internal sales and application teams and have opportunities to participate in customer meetings as a Service representative
+ Work with Sales, Marketing, and Quality Control regarding customer input and Product issues
+ Stay current with the latest features and upgrades and training of new products and software
+ Maintain historical performance and repair information and document field service reports
+ Monitor, maintain, update the Call Tracking Log and predictive care laser systems
+ Travel Requirements: Up to 20 % of Travel is required.
Skills You Bring:
+ Associates degree in Laser / Electro-Optics or related discipline
+ 3+ years of practical experience
+ Exceptional troubleshooting skills with new electrical, mechanical and laser systems
+ Experience with motion control device
+ Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
+ Ability to assume new tasks and responsibilities, self-manage, and schedule working time with minimal supervision
+ High degree of proficiency of PC skills including MS office, SAP, and data analysis applications

+ To perform this job successfully, an individual should have excellent communication and computer skills (MSOffice).

+ Experience with Semiconductor equipment would be an advantage.
+ Ability to travel internationally in support of MKS Instruments installations and applications, as well as training on our products, may be required. Primary consideration will be given to US Citizens and US Green Card Holders as this is a requirement to support certain customers.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
+ Perform activities such as sitting, standing, or typing for extended periods of time
+ Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
+ Regularly requires good manual dexterity and coordination
Compensation and Benefits:
Salary Pay Range:
Total Base Pay Range 66,600.00 - 123,800.00 USD per year. This range is a good faith estimate of the expected salary range for this position, based on a wide range of factors including qualifications, experience and training, operational and business needs and other considerations permitted by law.
Bonus: This position is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, in an amount to be determined by MKS [or as applicable].
