Sr. Technical Writer

Actalent is hiring an experienced Technical Writer for a great high-tech company in the Beaverton area. This is a long term career job opportunity that starts on a consultant-to-hire.

Job Description

The Technical Writer will be responsible for developing, writing, and maintaining technical documentation for semiconductor capital equipment. This role requires a deep understanding of complex technical concepts and the ability to translate them into clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation. This will be a complex 12x18 installation manual for equipment that will require tons of manual writing knowledge and experience working with engineers and other stakeholders.

Job Duties

Create, review, and update technical documentation, including user manuals, installation guides, and maintenance procedures.Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to gather information and ensure accuracy and completeness of documentation.Develop and maintain templates and standards for technical documentation.Ensure all documentation complies with industry standards and best practices.Conduct usability testing and gather feedback to improve documentation quality.Mentor and provide guidance to junior technical writers.Manage multiple documentation projects simultaneously and meet deadline.

Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, English, Communications, or a related field.Minimum of 5 years of experience in technical writing, preferably in the semiconductor or capital equipment industry.Strong understanding of semiconductor manufacturing processes and equipment.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Proficiency in using documentation tools such as Adobe FrameMaker, MadCap Flare, Markdown Monster, or similar.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $48.00/hr.
