With a 150-year heritage in delivering industry-leading sleep solutions, we own iconic brands including **Serta®, Beautyrest®, Simmons®** and **Tuft & Needle®.** **Compensation:** **_This is a traveling job - You will be traveling every week Monday through Friday_** $67,488/Year - $85,68/Year (based on degrees and experience) Paid for travel and will qualify for overtime **What You'll Do:** + Prioritizes safety by strictly following company safety policies and OSHA regulations to prevent work-related injuries. + Completes tasks efficiently and safely, ensuring adherence to company and departmental policies while maintaining a high standard of work. + Applies Lean principles and actively participates in Kaizen events and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency. + Demonstrates expertise in plant production, support equipment, and related processes to ensure smooth and effective operations. + Performs complex equipment maintenance and system modifications, working both independently and within a team to resolve technical challenges. + Identifies and implements equipment improvements to enhance reliability, efficiency, and overall performance. + Diagnoses and resolves complex equipment malfunctions, utilizing advanced analytical and problem-solving skills to develop effective solutions. + Conducts technical analysis of work processes, equipment design, and operations to uncover opportunities for improved productivity, quality, and cost savings. + Performs preventative maintenance and repairs on mechanical and electrical systems to ensure long-term functionality. + Leads equipment failure analyses, addressing both preventative and unscheduled maintenance issues to minimize downtime. + Troubleshoots and resolves difficult, infrequent equipment issues, using technical expertise and innovative thinking. + Documents equipment modifications and maintenance procedures through detailed technical reports. + Continuously learns and applies new skills, tackling increasingly complex, hazardous, and technical maintenance tasks. + Leads AM/PM training programs, developing and implementing best practices for equipment operation, problem-solving, and troubleshooting. + Mentors and trains Operators and Maintenance Technicians, fostering a culture of knowledge-sharing and skill development. + Actively enhances personal technical and leadership skills, staying up to date with industry advancements and best practices. **What You'll Do Cont'd:** + Develops and/or works from plans and schedules, drawings, and other written specifications, or oral instructions. Selects materials, equipment, and tools to be used. + Accepts and requests increasing levels of responsibility. + Documents maintenance work performed and maintains related records and files, including MSDS. + Requisitions new or replacement parts, tools or equipment for the approval of the Plant Manager. + In partnership with Engineering, leads the planning and installation or rearrangement of machinery or equipment. + Manages individual and team jobs and/or projects to meet schedules while ensuring safety precautions and established company/departmental policies are followed. + Develops and implements improvements to existing PM standards and equipment processes or initiates new standards or methods. + Demonstrates a high degree of creativity and innovation related to resolving equipment problems, continuous improvements, or responding to customer requests. + Provides team leadership on projects. **What You'll Bring:** + Must be able to read, write, and speak English + Must be at least 18 years or older + 10+ years relevant training in two or more maintenance trades, specifically mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, PLC controls, robotics and pneumatics. + Previous experience training and/or leading others required. + Knowledge of spreadsheet or database software preferred. + Experience working for a bedding manufacturer and/or knowledge of sewing equipment a plus. + Mechanical aptitude and ability to read blueprints and schematics. + Effective organization and planning skills + Demonstrates commitment to excellent customer support. + Strong analytical and technical ability to problem solve + Excellent communication skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams + Shows ability to foster a working partnership through listening and understanding needs. + Adapt to changing circumstances and priorities + Effectively solve targeted problems + Encourage and own a safe work environment + Produce high quality work and services + Work cooperatively with others and achieve outcomes + Open to feedback and motivated to grow outside the comfort zone + Communicate efficiently and effectively with others + Work involves physical demands typically found in a manufacturing environment, such as but not limited to: prolonged standing, bending, lifting and/or moving materials. + Full time travel required **Why work at Serta Simmons Bedding?** When you join SSB, you become part of a winning and diverse team that is excited and committed to helping people get better sleep.
