The general role of a Senior Technician – Electronic Security and Safety is to respond to prioritized support for service requests and field installation such as troubleshooting and repairing cabling systems and equipment. This will include electronic security, access control, and fire alarm systems along with other related electrical systems. This position must be flexible and willing to travel with occasional overnight stays and work extended hours as needed.
The Senior Technician will report to the Department Manager – Electronic Security and Safety and will work primarily out of their assigned location.
What You'll Do Interpret and review blueprints, schematics and drawings of network, fire, security and/or other related electrical systemsCreate, review, and approve in-field as-builtsInstall electronic security products such as cameras, NVRS, DVRS, access control, intercoms, gate operators, fire alarm systems, and networksInstall EMT and rigid conduitInspect electrical, security, fire and networking systems and their components for possible repairs or maintenanceInstall electrical system components as assigned (i.e. panels, audible/visual alarms, pull stations, detectors, switches, cameras, servers, card readers, etc.)Program and troubleshoot installed devicesEfficiently navigate Windows, Linux, and their associated Server SystemsPrepare written materials to document activities and/or convey informationRemain detail oriented and methodical when troubleshootingIdentify additional business opportunities with new and existing customers and communicate them to managersWork patiently and maintain positive communication with customersEffectively navigate challenging situations with customers to produce a positive outcomeServe as a technical leader on multiple projectsRespond to emergency situations as neededTrain and mentoring other TechniciansOther Duties

What You'll Bring 7+ years’ relevant experience in commercial/industrial electronic security solutions preferredExpert in fire alarm, video surveillance, and access control in the fieldValid driver’s license requiredAbility to recognize colorsProficient in reading blueprints and creating as-builtsAbility to use a variety of basic hand and power toolsExperience in fiber optics requiredPossess and willing to obtain multiple relevant manufacturer certificationsStrong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively and professionally communicate with co-workers and customersPrevious customer service experience requiredDemonstrated ability to navigate conflict and ensure a positive outcomeMust be dependable, trustworthy, and possess a positive and productive attitudePossess a strong knowledge of Windows, Linux, and their associated Server SystemsAbility to work independently and with co-workersDemonstrated leadership and training abilitiesWorking Conditions
Walk / use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls / reach with hands and arms / climb ladders and stairs / crawl / kneelSit/stand for extended periods of timeLift and/or move up to 50 poundsPerform duties on-site and underground at industrial locationsWear safety equipment: as per OSHA/MSHA requirements including but not limited steel toed and/or metatarsal shoes, hard hat, lanyard, fire retardant, protective eye wear, etc.Be safety and customer-focused, without exception
