The Sr. Test Engineer for Beckman Coulter is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining a variety of off the shelf & custom equipment used to support functional testing of electro-mechanical assemblies and printed circuit boards for Chaska instrument manufacturing and its suppliers. This includes supporting manufacturing operations in the development of new automated test systems, the re-development/refining of existing test systems, and the general maintenance & support of the existing test fixture install base.
This position is part of the Test Engineering organization located in Chaska, Minnesota and will be fulltime on-site. At Beckman Coulter, our vision is to relentlessly reimagine healthcare, one diagnosis at a time.
You will be a part of the Test Engineering organization and report to the Chaska Test Engineering Manager responsible for designing & supporting all internal and supplier facing functional test fixturing that supports Chaska instrument manufacturing. In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
+ Develop innovative test solutions in support of smart manufacturing
+ Create test routines using C# and internally developed test automation software
+ Be part of a cross functional team to help onboard new products developed internally and at other sites
+ Provide input to the design team on how best to build and test PCB, sub-assemblies, optics and system level testing including final acceptance tests
+ Work with the operations teams in support of tester installation qualification, process validation and process improvement activities
The essential requirements of the job include:
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent engineering discipline with 5+ years of industry work experience
+ History of creating, debugging, supporting, and/or maintaining complex custom measurement & test equipment preferably within a manufacturing operations environment
+ Experience working with complex systems that have a variety of interdependent technologies (motion control, temperature control, imaging, lasers, fluid handling, analog signal processing, software controlled, etc.)
+ Hands-on experience troubleshooting electro-mechanical assemblies and debugging them using standard measurement equipment
+ Ability to read and analyze low to moderate complexity PCB designs
Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:
+ Ability to travel up to 10% of the time within the U.S. (overnight)
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
+ Duplicating / transferring product lines between different manufacturing sites and / or receiving product lines originally designed and manufactured in other locations
+ Working within the medical device or other regulated industry (particularly supporting testers & documentation requirements within the manufacturing operations space)
+ Other engineering discipline exposure / background (software: C#, VB, C++, Python, Powershell, LabView, etc., mechanical: 3D modeling or printing with any CAD package such as SolidWorks, Fusion, etc., IT: virtual machines, legacy operating systems, networking, etc.)
The salary range for this role is $120,000 - $135,000 USD. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.
This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
