Kimley-Horn has an opportunity for a motivated Transit Practice Leader to expand our Transit practice in Oakland, California (CA)!

Responsibilities Has an entrepreneurial spirit, creating a vision for their Transit practice while facilitating the growth of our regional US-based transit practice.Our transit practice is engaged in the planning, design, and implementation of transit services and facilities throughout the country. Our specific focus is within local transit providers to envision, study, plan, design, engineer, manage, and implement new services, service expansions, and service/technology enhancements.Beyond serving our existing clients, has the ability to pursue own passions, leads, and clients.Leadership responsibilities include:Operating with integrity and sound business principalsProviding vision, business planning and strategyEstablishing goalsBuilding and maintaining positive client relationshipsHaving open communication with your partners and teamGrowing and leading a Transit practiceOur Project Managers/Practice Builders manage their projects profitably, transition work to qualified staff, grow and mentor staff, and act as a positive leader and mentor.The successful candidate will be given a great deal of autonomy to lead, direct, and grow their business.With success, this individual will enjoy the rewards of an impressive bonus program with the potential to advance to ownership. Qualifications A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent work experience and professional registration (P.E.) in California preferred15+ years of diversified experience in growing and leading a Transit practice in the Bay AreaBusiness development and marketing experience, including writing proposals, scopes of work, and budgets for projected workStrong desire and ability to be engaged with clients solving project problems, and working with the team to deliverExcellent knowledge of transit operations and best practicesGood communicator, particularly with key internal niche partners such as building structures, drainage, roadway, and MEP partnersExperience with specifications and detailed cost estimatesMust have a thorough understanding of project accounting and demonstrated ability to manage the schedule and budget for multiple projects at the same timeHas experience in marketing and supervision of the technical work of othersWe are looking for high-energy, creative, flexible, patient self-starters who are willing to work at a dynamic pace. Candidates must share a commitment to our company's Vision, Mission, and Shared Values.Strong technical foundation in areas of Transit corridor design experience, track/guide-way design, roadway design, Station design, including park-and-ride facilities

Base Salary Range:
