For this exciting role based in Singapore you will ensure trade compliance export activities for our Singapore and South East Asia ("SEA") legal entities. This includes:

Adherence to all applicable Singapore, SEA, and U.S. laws and regulations pertaining to international trade as well ensuring compliance with Thermo Fisher Scientific corporate, divisional and local policiesPerform and evaluate the process for accurate transaction screening and review of transactions, including denied and restricted party screeningHarmonized Tariff Schedule ("HTS") and Export Control Classification ("ECCN")Request, Check, and approve due diligence documentationAssist Divisional Trade Compliance with the implementation of Global Trade Compliance softwareExport license determination and applicationBuild and Implement a Free Trade Agreement program for applicable exportsFollow the timely reporting obligations to appropriate customs authoritiesReview blocks and release orders in ERP and our Global Trade Compliance SoftwareIdentify training needs, co-develop and provide trainingAssist in developing and deploying company policies and processes relating to trade compliance mattersSupport the continuous improvement of the company’s trade compliance programRecords retention: handling the import/export transaction documentation and performing random audit check as required by company policy and regulations

Keys to Success:

EducationBachelors Degree or equivalent combination of experience and education is preferred.

Experience3-5 years overall experience within export control compliance functions, ideally in an international environmentFTA/COO knowledge and expertiseHTS and ECCN Classification

Knowledge, Skills, AbilitiesAbility to adapt and balance multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with excellent attention to detailFamiliar with continuous improvement activities (PPI, Kaizen, JDI)Strong oral and written communication skills in both Malay and EnglishKnowledge of MS Suite Software preferredSelf-motivated and driven with excellent collaboration skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a team, proactive, with a positive demeanor
