Compensation
The anticipated base pay compensation range for this position is $78,200.00 to $130,400.00. This position is eligible for participation in our short-term incentive program in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan.
The range provided is not a guarantee of compensation. The range reflects the potential base pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual base pay compensation will depend, in part, on factors such as geographic work location and relevant experience and skills. The anticipated compensation range described above is subject to change and the compensation ultimately paid may be higher or lower than the range described above.
Position Details:
The Senior Transportation Analyst is responsible for statistical analysis, forecasting spend, negotiation strategy, predictive modeling and optimization. Will need to align transportation procurement strategy with market trends and Grainger’s business needs. Will be responsible for creating, developing and fostering strategic relationships with Parcel carrier’s ownership and executives.
You will report to the Manager, Transportation Procurement. This position is based out of Lake Forest, IL.
You Will:
Develop, analyze, recommend, and implement opportunities for improvement that improve transportation policies and processes around availability, transportation cost, and holistic supply chain costs Ability to approach business issues at various levels (tactical/strategic) Experience developing and executing cross-functional projects Engaged problem solving, using Continuous Improvement tools (4 blockers, project trackers, etc.) and methodologies, and suggest improvement to existing tools. Overcoming barriers for new ideas, gracefully challenging traditional thinking Financial acumen, critical and creative thinking, sound business judgment, including ability to derive the right conclusions from large sets of data coming from multiple sources Ability to work independently and drive progress autonomously Works closely with cross functional partners, understanding tradeoffs of business decisions and alignment of resources for swift completion of work Tenacity to accept and drive changes in an evolving network and amidst changing customer behavior Regular and active participation in carrier conversations based on open workstreams Maintain and measure previously implemented projects/processes
You Have:
Bachelor's Degree with Supply Chain focus or equivalent experience 3+ years in an analyst or similar role Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and and other reporting tools and interfaces (e.g., SQL/Teradata, PowerBI, SAP) Demonstrated skills and experience in: Working understanding of the supply chain tradeoffs between transportation service and costs Analyzing data, developing a recommended course of action and implementing a successful solution Project management and leading team efforts on specific assignments Comfortable negotiating with external vendors Proven ability to communicate confidently and effectively up to VP level Has proven relationship building skills and handles conflict gracefully Project management experience
