We are seeking a highly motivated and multifaceted Senior UI\/UX Designer to shape the user experience and refine the visual and interactive elements of our digital products. You will collaborate across product, engineering, marketing, and business teams, owning the end-to-end design process. The ideal candidate has experience designing complex, user-friendly experiences for both B2B and B2C audiences. This is an excellent opportunity to drive creative innovation and elevate design across Blurb \/ RPI Print.
Key Responsibilities\n\nDesign and deliver engaging and intuitive new features from definition through design, build, test, release, and maintenance.\nLead high-quality UI and interactions across our digital products (B2C and B2B) with a focus on functionality, aesthetics, and user experience through iterative progression.\nPartner closely with design team members, product managers, engineers, marketing and stakeholders to understand scope and requirements.\nProvide creative, thoughtful solutions ensuring design feasibility and alignment with goals.\nDevelop and present wireframes, flow diagrams, storyboards, mockups and high-fidelity prototypes to communicate design ideas.\nAdvocate for user-centered design ideas, changes, refinements, and improvements with stakeholders of all levels within the organization.\nDesign cohesive systems for brand elements such as iconography, data visualizations, and illustrations to ensure consistency across touchpoints.\nContribute to the development and maintenance of design systems and style guides.\nLeverage qual and quant data to inform design decisions to ensure an optimal balance of aesthetics and usability.\nAdvocate for design excellence and help shape best practices, standards, and processes within Blurb \/ RPI Print's design team and across the organization.\nElevate the brand through engaging animations and user journeys that delight and engage.\nConduct user research activities such as A\/B tests, interviews, surveys and usability tests and translate findings into actionable design recommendations.\nMentor and provide guidance across the design team, fostering a collaborative, kind, empathetic, and creative design culture.\nStay up-to-date on industry design trends, tools, technologies, and patterns.\n\n
Qualifications\n\nBachelor's or master's degree in visual design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent professional experience.\n5+ years of experience in product design or UX.\n2+ years as an interaction designer.\n2-3 +years of experience leading design projects and designing end-to-end experiences\n2+ years of experience working in a cross-functional organization.\nA strong portfolio demonstrating versatility and a range of experience designing for web and mobile applications, APIs, or large-scale, complex enterprise systems prioritizing efficiency, data visualization, customization options and intricate decision-making, including process, insights, and high-quality execution.\nExceptional graphic \/ visual design skills (typography, layout, white space, hierarchy, contrast, color, etc.) and attention to details.\nSkilled at conceptualizing and delivering end-to-end solutions that seamlessly integrate interaction design with brand identity.\nExperience with design systems, demonstrating the ability to create components, contribute, maintain and scale consistent design patterns and guidelines.\nKnowledge of WCAG 2.1 accessibility guidelines and implementation.\nExpert knowledge of design and prototyping tools (e.g. Figma, Adobe Creative Suite)\nGeneral awareness of CSS, HTML and JavaScript; ability to communicate clearly with engineers.\n\n
Preferred Skills\n\nIllustration or motion design skills\nDeep interest in technology as it relates to publishing, books, and a community of creators \nKnowledge of prepress and printing processes\n\n
