OVERVIEW
Responsible for maintaining the plant powerhouse operations including steam, water, refrigeration, compressed air, condensate water return and electric distribution in a fully operational state supporting our production requirements, at the lowest economically feasible cost. Supervises powerhouse team.
DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Drives utility improvements in cost, availability, and reliability, while insuring full regulatory compliance, including environment, health, safety – meeting all Federal, State, local, and corporate requirements. Reviews and Creates job orders to determine work priorities. Requisitions tools, equipment, and supplies required for operations. Schedules repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment to ensure continuous production operations. Coordinates activities of workers and contractors in the improvement of existing processes, incorporation of new technology, and seamless integration of new load requirements into utility operation. Direct maintenance activities on utility systems to provide continuous supply of steam, electric power, gas, or air required for operations. Develop preventive maintenance program in conjunction with engineering and maintenance staff. Develops technical training programs to enable staff ability to support equipment and technology. Develops and Reviews operation, reliability, and maintenance reports and statistics to plan and modify utilities activities. Plans, develops, and implements new methods and procedures designed to improve operations, minimize operating and fuel costs, and effect greater utilization of labor and materials. Reviews multiple capital project plans and collaborates on equipment utility needs, modifications and upgrades with engineering department. Directs training and indoctrination of workers to improve work performance and acquaint workers with company policies and procedures. Develop new training programs as needed to meet expanding requirements. Creates Project Management schedules for existing projects as well as future projects. Prepares department budget and monitors expenditure of funds in budget.
Required Education
Bachelor's degree (B. S.) in Engineering, preferably Mechanical, from accredited four-year college or university; and 3 to 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. SALARY PAY RANGE: $91,000 - $169,000 plus bonus
The pay rate for the successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s qualifications and prior experience.
