Role Summary We are seeking a Validation Engineer to develop, manage and execute validation for Mechatronic/Interior/Exterior/Structures components and subsystems. This role involves the development of test plans, creating testing methods, executing tests, and analyzing results to ensure components/systems meet performance targets. The role also includes project management responsibilities to ensure timely completion of tests to meet program sign off. The engineer will work closely with internal cross functional teams and external vendors to develop plans, source labs, and execute tests. A successful candidate will have a hands-on approach to testing and prototyping while providing leadership and support in troubleshooting, process improvement, and data analysis. Responsibilities Develop & manage validation plans to meet design, performance, and regulatory requirements. Create & update detailed test plans for mechatronic/interior/exterior/structures components based on evolving program needs. Perform hands-on validation testing and troubleshooting for vehicle mechatronics and subsystems. Coordinate with external vendors to ensure test procedures align with company standards and project timelines. Set up data logging systems and analyze test results to identify performance metrics and recommend improvements. Prepare, catalog, and archive test reports, ensuring compliance with certification standards. Drive method improvements and provide direction to lab technicians and third-party labs. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, mechatronics engineering, or related field. 2-5 years of experience in automotive testing, validation, or requirements management, with a focus on interior/exterior/structures/software-controlled systems. Hands-on experience with lab tools, control systems, data acquisition, and diagnostics (CAN, LIN). Experience/exposure in statistical analysis for test reliability, data analysis using MATLAB or Python, and experience with test automation platforms like Arduino or Raspberry Pi. Knowledge of regulatory and certification requirements. Experience with Jira, Jama, Confluence, and CAD design tools for validation setups. Pay Disclosure Salary Range Irvine-Based Applicants: $107,800-$134,800 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, and other factors permitted by law).
