Sr. VP of Finance, Assistant Chief Financial Officer

The Senior Vice President of Finance, Assistant Chief Financial Officer provides strategic financial leadership, ensures the integrity of financial information, and supports the organization's mission and goals through effective financial management. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES + Develop and implement financial strategies at the direction of the CFO to support the organization's long-term goals. + Provide financial insights and recommendations to the executive team, hospital and physician leadership and Board of Directors as requested by the CFO. + Monitor financial performance and implement corrective actions as needed. + Provide financial insights to support operational decision-making. + Quantify the financial resources needed to achieve the organization's strategic objectives including forecasting future financial performance and aligning it with SLUHN goals. + Provide oversight to the capital and financial resource allocation processes. + Identify and mitigate financial risks to protect the organization's assets and ensure financial stability. Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard financial resources. + Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. + Ensure the professional development and performance management of finance staff. + Provide insight into preparation of long-term financial forecasts and annual operating and capital budgets. + Provide tactical direction of and insight into the day-to-day operations of the financial management and analysis functions within the Finance Division. + Provide leadership to: + VP Finance - Financial Planning and Analysis, in partnership with senior management, operational managers, service line administrators and other finance professionals in preparing: + Financial forecasts and annual operating and capital budgets + Profitability analyses + Business plans and pro formas + VP Finance - Provider Services in providing financial and analytical support to the physician organization including: + Service line and practice level profitability analyses + Provider productivity data + Provider compensation analytical support + Monitor financial performance and implement corrective actions as needed. + Provide financial insights to support operational decision-making. + Quantify the financial resources needed to achieve the organization's strategic objectives including forecasting future financial performance and aligning it with SLUHN goals. + Provide oversight to the capital and financial resource allocation processes. + Identify and mitigate financial risks to protect the organization's assets and ensure financial stability. OTHER FUNCTIONS: Other strategic financial duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION: Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance Required: Master’s Degree in Financial or Health Administration Field Preferred: CPA TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: + 10 years progressive experience in healthcare senior financial management roles required. + Prior health system/hospital CFO experience preferred. + Hospital operations experience preferred. PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS: + Sitting for up to seven hours per day and for up to three hours at a time. Frequently uses hands and fingers for typing, data entry, etc. + Frequent use of hands. Uses upper extremities to rarely lift up to ten pounds. Rarely stoops, bends, or reaches above shoulder level. + Hearing as it relates to normal conversation. Seeing as it relates to general vision, near vision, peripheral vision, and visual monotony.
