Job Description: 

In need of a WebFOCUS developer, preferably with FOCUS experience, to help convert FOCUS applications to WebFOCUS. The developer will design and develop complex enterprise level applications and other system software using a strong working knowledge of WebFOCUS and Section 508 testing and coding standards. They will use superior oral and written communications skills as needed to effectively convey progress, issues, reports, and other customer deliverables with clarity and value. The developer may assist with documenting the conversion effort, including lessons learned.

Required:

Demonstrated design and development skills using WebFOCUS.
Experience with version control software such as MKS.
Knowledge of both client/server and mainframe-based systems.
Ability to independently and rapidly learn new technology, as needed
Experience eliciting requirements that lead to identification of business rules.
Ability to communicate verbally and in writing at a professional level.
Ability to explain complex technical and management information with conciseness, clarity, and accuracy.

Desired:

Self-managed with the ability to coach and mentor others. 
Demonstrated development ability using Oracle EPM. 
Knowledge of, and experience with FOCUS. 
Experience with JavaScript and HTML. 
Strong background in coding and testing Section 508 standards.
Ability to use Microsoft office suite for creating documents, spreadsheets, and PowerPoint presentations. 
Extensive technical experience with requirements analysis efforts for large-scale successful IT system implementations.
Requirements analysis experience with identifying services and defining processing requirements in a SOA environment.
Business Process Modeling experience to visualize, document, model and analyze business processes.
Experience with managing resources, managing assigned work, maintaining technical liaison with the customer. 
Experience in identifying and conveying opportunity capture. 
Well versed in SDLC, as well as RUP, Agile, Waterfall methodologies. 
Excellent written and oral communication skills.



Additional Information-  Location: Baltimore, MD area. Woodlawn section of Baltimore county.  

Interview: Phone first and face to face. Prefer  candidates in the mid-Atlantic region.    

Visa status:   Any visa status is ok. 

Must provide copy of visa.

Location: Woodlawn section in Baltimore county, Baltimore, MD.

Duration: These are long term contracts and can go as long as the contract with SSA. Federal contracts are usually seven years.

 

Minimum experience and education: Candidates with a BS degree must have the minimum of  11 years or 132 months of work experience specific to the job description.  

If a candidate has a Master’s degree, they still need a minimum of 11 years or 132 months of work experience but only nine years or 108months of experience specific to the job.  The other work experience to meet the 132 months does not have to be IT related.

Work experience while in college can be counted toward the overall years.

 

If no degree, work experience may be substituted.

Background clearance: All candidates selected will have to go through a Federal government background check prior to being able to start.  Generally, the background process takes between 3,4 or 5 weeks. The time is dependent on how quickly the candidate is able to complete the paperwork.

Candidates will obtain a Public Trust clearance upon approval.
