The **Sr. HL7 Engineer** is a vital role within the Information Technology (IT) team. This role requires hands-on experience with integration engines, such as InterSystems Health Connect. The successful candidate will support the integration of our client's solutions into diverse environments, acting as a key technical resource throughout the implementation process. + Navigate, analyze, and interpret the structure and components of HL7 Version 2 messages. + Create, parse, and manipulate HL7 Version 2 messages effectively. + Exhibit advanced proficiency in utilizing HL7 Version 2 functions and features. + Address complex healthcare data exchange scenarios using HL7 standards. + Explore practical strategies for implementing HL7 standards within healthcare organizations. + Analyze and propose effective solutions for real-world integration scenarios. **Specific duties include, but are not limited to:** + Interface Development: Design, code, test, implement, and support product interfaces. + System Design: Conduct technical needs analyses and assist with integration planning and execution. Collaborate with customers to define interface requirements and deliver solutions aligned with project guidelines. + Implementation Planning: Manage and execute multiple interface projects, including setting milestones and overseeing interface components of project plan. + Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of system specifications, designs, protocols, and user manuals. + Support and Maintenance: Provide ongoing support and maintenance for implemented systems, troubleshoot issues, and make necessary adjustments or upgrades. + Other duties as assigned by management. **Position Requirements:** + High School Diploma or equivalent experience. + 3 to 5 years healthcare experience in IT, with focus in Radiology. + Knowledge of HL7 Version 2 (V2) 2.8 standards (HL7 terminology such as message types, trigger events, role of each segment, components/subcomponents) and protocol for electronic data exchange within healthcare environments. + Experience with InterSystems Health Connect interface engine, or similar engines such as Mirth, Rhapsody, Corepoint. + Effective critical thinking, problem solving and decision-making skills. + Self-starter with proven ability to organize and follow through multiple complex tasks and projects simultaneously. + Strong interpersonal and customer service skills. + Mentor entry-level Integration Engineers. + 5-10% TRavel may be required. **Preferred:** + Bachelor's Degree. + Experience with end-to-end clinical Radiology systems, RIS/PACS. + HL7 Version 3 (V3) RIM 2.36. + HL7 Clinical Document Architecture (CDA®). + HL7 FHIR® (R4) Proficiency. + HL7 FHIR® Foundational Implementer. **Physical Requirements:** Standard office environment.
