We are in search of 2-3 SSHO's to support a critical infrastructure project. This position provides per diem, lodging and transportations for candidates who are eligible. We are looking to have people start in the next 1-2 weeks.

Job Duties:
Ensure the implementation of Accident Prevention Plans (APP), Health and Safety Plans, applicable regulations and SOPs.Must possess working knowledge of United States Army Corps of Engineers health and safety requirements, contained in EM 385 1-1, as well as familiarity of Cal OSHA requirements.Actively promote and support the health and safety programs at project sitesOversee the completion of Activity Hazard Analysis (AHA) preparation and acceptanceFacilitate health and safety training for Company staff, subcontractors, and any parties required to participate to ensure achievement of exceptional health & safety performance including developing training content and delivering course informationAuthor health and safety related documentation (reports, logs, records, and site specific risk mitigation plans), completing required information for daily reports and client communications in a timely and accurate mannerEnsure that all documentation is organized and stored as requiredConduct regular inspections to assess compliance with applicable requirementsTake appropriate actions to prevent loss and mitigate risk in accordance with Company standards and practicesEnsure that deficiencies are corrected in a timely manner and to acceptable measuresRepresent the Company in a positive and professional manner in client and regulatory agency interactions, serving as the primary point of contact for site health & safetyCollaborate with Project Managers to ensure that health and safety activities are incorporated effectively into project plansLog health and safety incidents in the Company Incident DatabaseFacilitate incident investigations and completion of associated documentationVerify implementation and close-out of corrective actionsProvide mentoring, direction, and subject matter expertise to Health & Safety Supervisors and/or junior level staffParticipate in employment interviews and make hiring recommendations. Provide performance feedback regarding junior level staff Interface effectively with senior management, escalating issues appropriately and making recommendations regarding policy & procedure Complete subcontractor reviewsIn addition to the accountabilities above, other responsibilities, tasks, and deliverables may be assigned to the incumbent of this positionRequirements
OSHA 30 Hour Construction CertificationHAZWOPER 40 Hour Certification and 8 Hour Refresher CertificationHAZWOPER Supervisor CertificationAbility to work in dynamic environments, which may include, but is not limited to: work in extreme weather conditions, traversing uneven surfaces, working in remote locations, walking up and down hills, walking extensively through work areas, stand for long periods of time, drive a pick-up truck, and work outdoors.The ability to communicate in written and oral formats with diplomacy and tactAn aptitude for exercising independent thinking and reasoningDemonstrated success in teaching others health and safety concepts and requirementsSkilled in leading others without formal reporting authorityProven knowledge of US Army Corps of Engineers EM 385 1-1, OSHA 1910 and 1926Competent in using Microsoft Office products, email systems, and WindowsEight years of progressive work experience in a position directly related to health and safetyCurrent US Driver’s license and good driving record.Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $55.00/hr.
