Direct Hire opportunity for a Stability and Control Engineer located onsite in Long Beach, CA.
\r\n\r\nAs a Stability and Control Engineer you will:
\r\n\r\nYou will be responsible for establishing the stability and control capabilities of a blended wing body configuration.
\r\n\r\nWhat You'll Do
\r\n\r\n•Control surface sizing
\r\n\r\n•Control allocation, axis decoupling and mixing studies
\r\n\r\n•Control law design
\r\n\r\n•Stability and control analysis in free air, as well as in ground effect
\r\n\r\n•Establishing acceptable stability margins
\r\n\r\n•Establishing take-off and landing velocities (i.e. VMCG, VS, VMU)
\r\n\r\n•Establishing control surface sensitivities
\r\n\r\n•Modal analysis (phugoid, Dutch roll, etc)
\r\n\r\n•Evaluating handling qualities throughout linear range and beyond stall
\r\n\r\n•Assessing aero-elastic effects on aircraft control
\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

This is a full-time, Direct Hire opportunity. On-site in Long Beach CA
\r\n\r\nIdeal candidate will have:
\r\n\r\nMaster's degree in aerodynamics from an accredited university.
\r\n\r\n6-8 years of experience in Stability & Control.
\r\n\r\nKnowledge of Computational Fluid Dynamics, aerospace control law techniques and flight handling qualities (MIL-F-8785).
\r\n\r\nExperience with software tools such as Mathworks Matlab, Simulink, OpenVSP, XFOIL, and AVL preferred.
