Job Description:
Sets up and operates safely a corrugating system, producing sheets of corrugated sheets from rolls of paper. Remains accountable for product quality and production of scheduled items in a timely manner. Performs a variety of tasks while machine runs to supplement activities of the other stacker.
Change over and operate machine to produce 26k or more linear feet per hour of corrugated sheet.Operate production system computer (Kiwi)Operate/Adjust machine controls and computerVisually inspect finished product; advise team leader as needed for adjustments to improve/maintain qualityRemove damaged/defective sheets from finished goodsLift/Carry pallets, corrugated sheets and production supplies, up to 80 lbs.Execute machine clean up procedures as required. Execute weekly machine start-up procedures as required. Report machine problems to team leader, as neededSAFETY
Follow all plant rules and safety rulesFollow housecleaning and sanitation rulesReport all accidents and injuries to supervisor immediatelyReport all unsafe acts or conditions to supervisor immediatelySafety glasses must be always worn in the plantAlways wear hearing protectionKnow lock out/tag out proceduresApply lock out/tag out prior to entering machine-Example: clearing jam ups, cleaning hotplates.Always wear Kevlar gloves.Apply proper lifting technique when lifting any material.Know and use the proper protection equipment for the job.Must maintain all tools in good working condition and must notify supervisor when repairs or replacement is needed.Be cautious when walking on conveyor rollers and using crossovers.Keep machine area clean.Know the locations of fire extinguishers, fire hoses and alarms.Job Qualifications:
Safe work practice certification and one-hour annual trainingLockout/Tagout certification and one-hour annual trainingPrior experience palletizing/stacking materialsOperate machine and move material in a safe and professional manner with indoor environmentCommunicate effectively with team members in a very noisy work environmentOperate wireless two-way radio set to communicate with team membersRead and follow written and verbal job order instructionsThink and act quickly in a fast-paced production environmentThe starting rate for this position is $17.17, depending on your role, level and location.
