Job Description:

THE OPPORTUNITY

Based in New York City and reporting to the Head of SEO, the Staff, Search Engine Optimization (SEO) role will be responsible for helping to develop, execute, and evaluate holistic search engine marketing-based campaigns for digital properties under the Scholastic umbrella. is role will collaborate closely with stakeholders (Engineering, Product, Marketing, Sales, Data and Analytics) to expand keyword footprint, increase share of voice (SOV), drive leads, and increase natural search derived traffic and revenue.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Work with a multitude of business partners & product segments to research, launch, develop, and complete SEO projects working with technology, product, ecommerce & content teams.

Identify new opportunities, content updates, and technical updates to improve natural search traffic to our websites.

Reporting key metrics, tracking keywords, and working with analytics tools.

Researching technical issues, understanding Search Console errors, and monitoring for SEO best practices.

Writing suggestions for teams to include keywords in pages, also creating content suggestions to improve pages new & existing.

Presentations, quarterly reports, and working across business units while communicating to leadership.

Qualifications

HOW YOU CAN FIT (Qualifications)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

2 - 4 years content marketing and SEO experience

Assist with the development and planning of SEO campaigns and recommendations based on effective SEO strategies

Assist with SEO request intake process, including media calendaring and publishing for key internal and external stakeholders

Excellent verbal and written communication skill

Experience with partnering with content and revenue marketing teams

Familiarity with ecommerce SEO strategies and product page optimization tactics

Ability to work independently as well as part of a team a fast changing environment

Strong ability to quickly learn and adapt to new platforms, technologies and changing market trends

Familiarity with foundational technical SEO knowledge: page speed optimizations, Core Web Vitals, content architecture, and schema structured data markup

Ability to manage multiple projects working with multiple business units and stakeholders

Experience using web analytics tools such as Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics, or the like

Advanced user of Microsoft Office suite with very strong Excel skills Experience with ecommerce websites and platforms

Proven record of assisting with the support of A/B and proof-of-concept testing

Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making ability with an enthusiastic willing-to-learn attitude

Experience with providing meaningful recommendations rooted in data through  competitive research, landscape analysis and qualitative/quantitive keyword research

Experience using SEO tools including, but not limited to, SEMrush, Search Console, Bing Webmaster tools, Sistrix, Screaming Frog, and advanced functions in Google docs/sheets.

Experience: 2 - 4 years content marketing and SEO experience
