We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Staff Accountant with the ability to thrive in our fast paced, growing organization. This individual must be able to identify and resolve problems both independently and as a part of a team. Effective verbal and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills across all levels of the organization along with strong organizational and time management ability are also required. Responsibilities: Interface with field accounting personnel for fixed asset accounting issuesResponsible for monthly journal entries related to PP&E activityHeavily involved in the month end close process including preparation of depreciation, depletion and amortization entriesAssist with the transfer of assets within the organization and record any disposal of assetsMaintain and update the units of production schedules for mineral interest assetsWork closely with the Tax Department in their management of fixed assets for Tax ReportingPrepare the fixed asset roll forward for monthly reportingPreparation of various balance sheet account reconciliationsReview various GL integrity reports and resolve any outstanding issuesAssist with the annual Asset Retirement Obligation  (“ARO”) analysis processEvaluate and recommend new approaches and procedures that result in process improvements and efficienciesProvide assistance with any quarterly and/or annual reporting schedulesAssist with fixed asset related projects and other special projects assigned by managementServe as backup for set up and closing of Capital JobsAd-Hoc reporting and analysis

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA a plus  Minimum of 1 year of relevant accounting experienceThorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)Must be a self-starter and a quick learner who can work independently and as part of a team with minimal supervisionIntermediate to advanced experience with Microsoft Excel; JD Edwards skills desirableDetail-oriented with effective verbal and written communication skillsExcellent interpersonal skills across all levels of the organizationStrong organizational and time management abilityDemonstrated ability to roll-up sleeves and work with team members in a hands-on capacity
