Staff Accountant
Description We are seeking a Staff Accountant to join our team in BUFFALO, New York, 14202-1109, United States. This individual will play a critical role in our financial management, client billing, compliance reporting, and accounts payable functions. This role also involves supporting team development and firm growth, as well as participating in an integrated, coordinated administrative team. Responsibilities: • Assist in providing accounting and firm financial management assistance • Take charge of client billing, compliance reporting, and accounts payable tasks • Offer additional accounting support as needed to bolster team development and firm growth • Contribute to work instruction documentation and related updates • Work as part of an integrated, coordinated administrative team • Assist with accounting and financial management tasks as delegated, including client billing and consultant invoice management • Aid in the preparation and issuance of client invoices and statements • Assist with vendor payments and account management • Support the preparation of financial reports and filings • Participate in special studies and financial analyses • Assist with client contract required compliance reporting • Assist with the enforcement of timely completion of employee timesheets and expense reports, reviewing for completeness and general accuracy. Requirements • Demonstrated proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) management • Proven ability to perform Bank Reconciliations accurately and efficiently • Strong knowledge of General Ledger maintenance and management • Experience in recording and managing Journal Entries • Proficiency in executing Month End Close procedures • Excellent organizational skills to manage financial records and documents • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal • Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions based on accurate and timely analyses • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
