The Staff Accountant responsibilities include the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company’s reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles. Duties will also include the management of cost accounting projects, budgeting, and special projects as needed. The person selected for this position must have experience in servicing customers in the logistics/supply chain industry. REPORTS TO: Director of Financial Planning and Analysis Essential accountabilities: + Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures + Manage vendor relationships + Vendor set up and maintenance, coding and payment processing. + Ensure all processing and reporting deadlines are consistently achieved. + Responsible for daily data entry into accounts payable and accounts receivable + Prepare journal entries, general ledger account analysis and reconciliations accurately + Provide data to Controller to ensure completion of financial statements and supporting schedules as directed + Complete special projects and analysis as requested by management + Manage Fixed Assets and implement new application to track + Initiate and manage cost savings initiatives + Maintain orderly accounting filing system + Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions + Calculate and issue financial and operating metrics as requested + Assist with A/R and deposits, as needed. + Provide information to external auditors for annual audit + Working in developmental Enterprise Resource Planning system (ERP) refining processes with IT team + Additional job responsibilities assigned by your manager DISCLAIMER: This is not necessarily an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties, skills, efforts, requirements or working conditions associated with the job. Requirements Qualifications: + Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required plus 3-5 years relevant experience + Familiarity with ERP systems + Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines + Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills and must be able to interact with all levels of associates and management + Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications, especially in Excel + Strong problem-solving skills + A disciplined approach to developing and implementing standardized processes and procedures to drive results + Self-starter that works well independently but also fosters an environment of teamwork by clearly operating as a team member + Manufacturing experience a plus + Ability to travel, as needed PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:The physical demands described here represent those that an employee must meet to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
