Staff Accountant
Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Staff Accountant in CINCINNATI, Ohio. The role is in the financial industry and the successful candidate will be working in an office environment. The Staff Accountant will manage a variety of accounting processes, assist in month-end procedures, and collaborate with various teams to gather financial information. Responsibilities: • Oversee full-cycle accounting procedures, from data entry to financial reporting • Assist in the closure of monthly accounts, ensuring efficiency and accuracy • Identify any financial discrepancies and promptly rectify them • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to collect necessary financial data • Support the creation of financial statements and reports • Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting policies and regulations • Contribute to ongoing improvement initiatives within the finance department • Process and review commission statements for accuracy • Liaise with Account Managers regarding payments due or refunds for clients • Manage invoicing for new business, renewals, and endorsements • Conduct bank reconciliations and monitor bank accounts • Ensure timely payments to vendors • Review Balance Sheet and Income Statements for accuracy • Collaborate with other Accountants for month end and year end procedures • Undertake special projects as requested by management. Requirements • Possession of 3 or more years of experience in an Accounting role • Proficiency in handling Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) • Demonstrable experience with Bank Reconciliations • Familiarity with the General Ledger • Skilled in the preparation and posting of Journal Entries • Experience with Month End Close and Month-end Close Activities • Proficiency in Month-end Financial and Financial Reporting • A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to prioritize tasks • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal • Proficiency in the use of accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • High level of integrity and confidentiality.
