Description We are offering a short-term contract employment opportunity for a Staff Accountant in the service industry, located in Lansing. As a Staff Accountant, you will be expected to perform a variety of accounting tasks, ranging from accounts payable to general ledger maintenance. This role is onsite and demands a high level of analytical skill. Responsibilities • Conduct regular bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy in financial statements • Handle Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable tasks efficiently • Perform month-end close procedures including journal entries and account analysis • Prepare and maintain the General Ledger ensuring accuracy and compliance • Utilize accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP for various accounting tasks • Implement standard cost accounting practices and procedures • Assist in complex financial analysis with minimal supervision • Play an active role in the preparation and maintenance of financial records and reports • Ensure adherence to accounting principles and company procedures in all accounting tasks. Requirements • Demonstrated experience in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) • Proficiency in performing Bank Reconciliations • Extensive knowledge of the General Ledger and Journal Entries • Experience in performing Month End Close activities • Familiarity with accounting software like NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP • Understanding of Cost - Standard and Cost Accounting principles • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
