Staff Accountant
Description We are searching for a meticulous Staff Accountant to join our team in Oak Brook, Illinois. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for a variety of financial tasks, with a primary focus on bank reconciliations. This role offers a short term contract employment opportunity in the finance industry. Responsibilities: • Conduct regular bank reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of financial transactions • Investigate and rectify discrepancies between bank statements and accounting records • Utilize financial software, such as Yardi, for recording, tracking, and reconciling financial transactions • Maintain up-to-date and accurate financial records in accordance with accounting standards • Collaborate with other departments to align with company-wide financial goals and obtain necessary financial information • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders about financial transactions and discrepancies • Assist in the preparation of financial reports by providing accurate and reconciled financial data • Contribute to the generation of financial statements for management and regulatory reporting • Identify opportunities for improving bank reconciliation procedures and implement solutions to enhance financial processes • Organize and file financial documents for ease of retrieval and auditing. Requirements • Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) • Experience with Bank Reconciliations • Familiarity with General Ledger management • Proficiency in creating and managing Journal Entries • Experience with Month End Close procedures • Knowledge and experience with NetSuite software • Experience with Oracle software • Proficiency in QuickBooks software • Knowledge and experience with SAP software • A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail • Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines • Professional ethics and understanding of confidentiality in handling sensitive financial information.
