Staff Accountant
Description We are offering a long-term contract employment opportunity for a Staff Accountant in Saint Paul, Minnesota. The Staff Accountant will be managing accounts payable and receivable, facilitating account reconciliations, and handling vendor maintenance. The role also involves participating in various annual projects and assisting with audit preparations. Responsibilities: • Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable tasks efficiently • Perform account reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial data • Maintain and update vendor records, responding to vendor inquiries as needed • Participate in annual projects, including managing IRS form 1099’s • Assist with the preparation for various financial and grant-related audits • Resolve general finance concerns and handle process improvement initiatives • Use NetSuite for various accounting functions and data management • Comply with all policies and practices to safeguard assets and maintain data confidentiality • Accept flexible work assignments as responsibilities change over time • Assist with general office duties as assigned *Please note that all candidates are required to provide 2 recent supervisor or manager references in order to be considered for employment. Requirements • Proficiency in using NetSuite software for accounting tasks • Demonstrated experience in managing Accounts Receivable (AR) • Proven track record in handling Accounts Payable (AP) • Experience in conducting Account Reconciliation • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel • Ability to handle confidential information responsibly • Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously • Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity • CPA certification is desirable but not mandatory.
